On The Road Friday ~ Texas to Wisconsin

I am a wee bit behind in sharing some of the highlights of 2023 with you all. Here we go with a little catch up. Mid-May my Uncle Paul and Aunt Sally came for a Wisconsin visit. I took a photo of the TEXAS license plate of their truck parked in our driveway.

All the way from, The Lone Star State. My Uncle Paul and Aunt Sally did a true Wisconsin Family Tour, starting in Southern Wisconsin, heading way North to Eagle River, Wisconsin and then heading West to Northwest Wisconsin. They visited and stayed with family and friends during their month long trip.

It was a true blessing to catch up, right where we left off in 2018, our last in person visit.

Our family is wearing short sleeves and my Texas family is wearing long sleeves, in fact my Aunt Sally had a turtleneck on prior to heading out to take some family photos.

It makes me laugh how climate can change us.. how we can get cold fast after living in a hot climate and us Wisconsin folks can get hot fast when visiting a hot climate.

We had a lovely three day and two night visit. And when they left to head South for Texas they said, "it is your turn to visit us."

How about you, have you had any traveling friends or family visit you this summer season?

On The Road Friday ~ Arizona

 Hello Friends,

Get ready to hop into your time machine for a blast to the past.

A few weeks ago while writing answers for the Hodgepodge I shared about a favorite Easter break and Easter dress.

Here we go .... into the past on this on the road Friday.

My Uncle Paul's mom lived in Tuscon, Arizona. I had the opportunity to travel with my Uncle and Aunt from Wisconsin to Arizona to celebrate Easter with my Uncle Paul's family.

My favorite Easter dress. One of my Aunt Sally's hobbies is photography, she had me do several poses wearing my Easter dress.

I remember loving the desert. I still do. And I always say if I get tired of Wisconsin winters,  we just might move to Arizona. As for now, Wisconsin will remain Home Sweet Home, even with our crazy weather.

Another thing I notice looking back at these photos and answered for a recent Hodgepodge, is my second favorite color is pink. Look at the pink Easter dress and pink shorts.

I also had my childhood bedroom painted pink.

Thank you for coming along with me on the road Friday and down memory lane.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to a special couple...my parents.
This weekend we helped them celebrate 40 years of marriage.

Last week I was sent this sweet video, it is only 3 minutes. I hope you can take a moment to watch it. It is so sweet and full of love. And made me think of my own marriage. What a special gift it is, to married to my best friend.

The first time you kissed me...time stopped!

Happily ever after was just the beginning.

We also celebrated two fun birthdays, my aunt Sally who turned 60 and my uncle Paul who turned 70.

We enjoyed one big party and celebrated so many good things.
Yay!

I hope you all had great weekends.

Texas at night

We are on the road this Friday to Texas at night.
Here we go...
I love fair rides at night, they are so pretty!

I love posing for this photo.

It is so beautiful.

The boys with Aunt Sally and Uncle Paul.

I think they should have done the kissing pose. Just kidding!

That is our trip to the Houston Rodeo at night.
Have a great weekend!

Look who is fishing!

Take a peek on the dock, above my husband. Yes, that is who would like to go fishing. This is my Aunt and Uncle's cat. She loves to chase your fishing line. She was so excited with this little fish coming her way.

A fish dinner for a cat! Two happy fishing buddies!

Think Quotes - He walks with...

Proverbs 13:20
He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

I can tell you from experience, this is true.

Making an Omelet

Do you make omelets? We do not. I do not know why we don't, because I think they are good. A recent visit to my Uncle and Aunts house included an omelet breakfast! My Uncle Paul gave me a lesson regarding omelet making. I hope to use my new knowledge and make some good omelets for my family.

Please share some of the goodies you put into making a good omelet or share tricks to omelet making.

Thank You from a new omelet making girl.
