I am a wee bit behind in sharing some of the highlights of 2023 with you all. Here we go with a little catch up. Mid-May my Uncle Paul and Aunt Sally came for a Wisconsin visit. I took a photo of the TEXAS license plate of their truck parked in our driveway.
All the way from, The Lone Star State. My Uncle Paul and Aunt Sally did a true Wisconsin Family Tour, starting in Southern Wisconsin, heading way North to Eagle River, Wisconsin and then heading West to Northwest Wisconsin. They visited and stayed with family and friends during their month long trip.
It was a true blessing to catch up, right where we left off in 2018, our last in person visit.
Our family is wearing short sleeves and my Texas family is wearing long sleeves, in fact my Aunt Sally had a turtleneck on prior to heading out to take some family photos.
It makes me laugh how climate can change us.. how we can get cold fast after living in a hot climate and us Wisconsin folks can get hot fast when visiting a hot climate.
We had a lovely three day and two night visit. And when they left to head South for Texas they said, "it is your turn to visit us."

How about you, have you had any traveling friends or family visit you this summer season?
Family vacations are truly the best! We're looking forward to a few family visits this summer. It's been a while.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos! And I am assuming they drove. A good thing, what with all the planes really messing up this month.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome trip they took. So nice that you got to spend time with them. That is true about how we adjust to the weather we live in.
ReplyDeleteCarla, what a nice visit you had with your aunt and uncle from Texas. I've always wanted to visit Texas. Wisconsin and Texas are certainly different states with the weather, aren't they? I hear it's so hot there right now. This is a lovely photo of the family. You look even younger in this picture years later. It must be your beautiful heart that keeps you young.

No plans for anyone to visit us this summer but we will be spending a week away with extended family in August as usual. Looks like you had a good visit with your family.
ReplyDeleteToo funny about the short and long sleeve shirts. My next door neighbors live in Florida and only come up for the Summer. They too wear long sleeve. LOL So glad your family could visit you from Texas! Janice
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to get together with family.
ReplyDeleteWe have some family visits planned.
All the best Jan
As a matter of fact, my daughter and the boys have arrived at the cottage and will be coming for a visit soon. It's a lot cooler at the cottage. Here it was brutally hot today.

How nice to have a Southern family visit! It's not the time to come to Florida...too hot! Enjoy your weekend! Love catching up with you!
ReplyDeleteThe short answer is no. My entire family (brothers their wives and kids and their kids) all live right here in town. The only family member not here in town is our daughter who's 500 miles away; but she did come for a visit over the 4th as she was making her way home after a business trip. Your pictures are lovely and it's great you had such a nice time visiting.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun with your Texas family visiting. Ha Ha I bet it is a shock to go from that Texas heat to Wisconsin cool. Have a great weekend. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like such a fun visit! I've had my girls and their kitties visiting us. My hubby's cousin came to stay one night last year. We don't get many overnight guests!
ReplyDeleteI think that's the sign of a great visit: when you are invited to reciprocate. We need to do more old-fashioned visitin' with folks we love! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAlice is a pretty name, Carla. Thank you for sharing that. I thought that might be your dear aunts name, so I came back to your post, and noticed that your aunt from Texas is Sally. ; ) Choosing a baby's name takes time, so we'll see what they choose.

Sounds like a great visit, as I am sure it will be when you visit them in Texas too! Did they end up making it down to the Mississippi River?
