Welcome to the Hodgepodge
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. I recently read here about four secrets to happiness from around the world. They were-
Overcome your fears by facing them head on, allow yourself to relax and reset, work to live versus living to work, and find the good in life. Not sure if these are the actual secret to happiness, but which of the four do you struggle with most? Which one comes most easily to you?

The one that I struggle with: over come your fears by facing them head on.
The one that comes most easily to me: work to live versus living to work.
2. How would you spend a found $20 bill today?
I am going on a trip next week. I would put it in my trip fund.
3. Ego trip, power trip, guilt trip, round trip, trip the light
fantastic, or trip over your own two feet...which 'trip' have you
experienced or dealt with most recently? Explain.
Round trip...Summer is a busy time for trips. Trips back home to visit my parents, trips with our two boys, trips to the community gardens and upcoming trips.
4. If you could master any physical skill in the world what would it be, and how would you use that skill?
My boys love when I jump with them on the trampoline. But I do not really jump. I jump once or they make me jump, not sure how they do this. They get close to me, both of the jump and I fall over. I laugh so hard, they laugh so hard. And then I usually end up peeing my pants. I know it, how silly! That is exactly why I need to master this physical skill!
5. As July draws to a close, let's take inventory of our summer fun.
Since the official first day of (North American) summer (June 20th) have
you...been swimming? enjoyed an ice cream cone? seen a summer
blockbuster? camped? eaten corn on the cob? gardened? deliberately
unplugged? watched a ballgame? picked fruit off the vine? taken a road
trip? read a book? Are any of these activities on your
must-do-before-summer-ends list?
I have enjoyed ice cream. I have camped, gardened, picked fruit, took a road trip and read a good book.
I have swimming and corn on the cob still on the Summer to do list.
6. The Republican Presidential candidates will debate on August 6th. What's your question?
Are you telling the truth?
Captain America is always honest.
xx oo
I really like Captain America.
7. What's your most listened to song so far this summer?
I do not really have one. I love music and listen to so many wonderful songs.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Happy Summer
Is Captain America in the race yet? Love the fun you have with your great boys. They're wonderful kids. That ice cream cone photo is amazing. I love it at the beginning of your post. Catches the eye...and appetite. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat ice cream looks so good. I love your answers Carla. I too wish that politicians would tell the truth.
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a great summer day.
Hugs,
JB
Love this idea! Hope you are enjoying your summer! I might join the fun some time!
ReplyDeleteI like "Are you telling the truth?" If only they would be honest we might have a chance of electing someone that would help our nation! Enjoy your day my friend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on a trampoline in ages. Looks like fun! Enjoy all your travels!
ReplyDeleteAre you telling the truth!! I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteYour description of jumping on the trampoline with your boys made me smile. I love your family stories, Carla. Hugs, Nancy

All the best Jan

These are always so great. That icecream looks delicious! I miss our trampoline, that was good exercise but I could never jump as well as my kids. Have a great trip! I feel like I need to go on a few local trips before summer is over.
ReplyDeleteYou are brave jumping on that trampoline. Ice cream is the perfect summer treat. When you come to NZ you will have to try our favourite flavour- Hokey Pokey.
