It is a Happy Halloween Hodgepodge

Meow!

Welcome to the Hodgepodge!
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

1. Are you comfortable with silence? If you're home alone, do you like silence or do you need regular background noise? Do you seek out times and places to be silent? What's your favorite place to find silence/be silent?

When I am home I like to have my music playing in the background. I like to have my favorite radio station playing Classical KUSC.
I do not listen to any sort of music when I go for my walk or xc ski. I like to just listen to nature.
I love to just sit and be silent by a body of water, Lake Superior or the Elk River are my favorite places.

  2. October 28th is National Chocolate Day. Can't let that go by without a mention now, can we? Will you celebrate? How? Let's say you can have one of the following right this very minute... a cup of hot chocolate, a strawberry dipped in chocolate, a bowl of plain chocolate ice cream, or a slice of chocolate pie...what's your pleasure?

I love chocolate cake, brownies, chocolate frosting, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and homemade hot chocolate. Yummy! Right this minute, I would take a cup of homemade hot chocolate with whip cream.

 3. How do you feel about blue jeans? Favorite thing in the world to wear or nope, don't own a single pair? How often do you wear blue jeans in a typical week? Do you own a blue jean jacket?

Love blue jeans.
Yes, I do enjoy wearing them. When I find a style or brand I like, I will buy two pair.
I wear jeans usually 5 times a week.
Yes, I have a blue jean jacket.

 4. Are you superstitious? If so, in what way?

No, I am not.
I love hearing about baseball players superstitions, it just makes me chuckle.

 5. If you had to come up with a costume using only things you have on hand right now, what could you come up with?

A cat!
Black shirt and pants.
Cat ear headband.
Eyeliner.

6. What scares you a little? What do you do when you feel scared?

Walking in the dark. I am always looking behind me.
Having my husband hold my hand makes me feel better. When I am scared, I reach for his hand.

 7. Perhaps today will be the day I ______________________________.

I finish a knitting project I have been working on forever!

 8.  Insert your own random thought here.

 Happy Halloween!

  1. Oh, I love the jackolantern and those cute cat cookies!! I think Molly needs a German Shepherd companion. You'd never be afraid while walking at night. :-) Actually, I won't walk alone out here, day or night. Sure miss Bridger. Have a wonderful Wednesday and don't eat too much Halloween candy. I don't dare have it around. Lol

  2. Congrats on finishing the knitting! It's a great feeling, right? (Not that I knit really... the last project I did was a blanket for my nephew...he's 16 now).

    Those cookies couldn't be cuter!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. I agree...there is something so peaceful about sitting out on the open water. Good for the soul.

  4. I'm a silence girl. I used to love loud, loud music and occasionally I do play it in the house...but for the last few years, if I'm alone in house, it's silent. You are the cutest cat! Love it!

  5. Hope your knitting is finished! Completing something beautiful is so satisfying! And some hot chocolate sounds fabulous - we're having a dreary-looking, rainy day here.

  6. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who will buy several of an item if it is something I like. If I find a shirt I really like, I will buy a couple of different colors..LOL

    1. Hi Carla, for some reason the computer is not letting me comment, dumb computers, lol...so I am tricking it and replying this way! ;)
Mmm, chocolate cookies, yes please! And kitty cats at that, even better! I used to love candy corn as a kid, my husband hates it and calls it 'rotten teeth'...we don't have to give him a cookie! ;)
I too buy multiples...if something fits well and looks good I usually get more than one color!
Love the cat costume, and so cute!
      Happy Halloween!! :)

  7. Carla, what a delightful post. I LOVE chocolate too, and these kitty cat cookies are creative and look yummy. I know what you mean about walking in the dark, sister. I'm the same way.

Happy Halloween, Carla. This is a cute picture of you. : )

  9. I love silence when I'm home but on occasion, I love music and my favourite chocolate is a piece of Free Trade black chocolate made the old fashion way with real cocoa butter instead of soy Lecethin as an emulsifier. I wear jeans on most days and occasionally dress up for special occasions.

This cool damp weather we are having certainly makes for good hot cocoa weather! Think I'll have one tonight!

  18. Love getting to know you better in these posts, Carla. You definitely are a chocolate lover. I prefer silence since I'm hearing impaired anyway. When I can hear the television or music I get very distracted and unfocused. Go figure!

I love jeans but I really wear loose knit leggings a lot as they are comfortable to curl up in. Jeans def for going out.

    Happy Halloween!
