Memory Making in July

Capturing special moments in the season of Summer in the month of July!

A day of fishing with my son. It was just me and Atticus. We packed a picnic and fished at some of our favorite secret spots.

Creating bouquets to celebrate Independence Day!

Enjoying an evening fire.

Grilled homemade pizza.

Dinner for two on our back deck overlooking the garden.

Watching one of our young friends play baseball.

And his team won the championship!

A few of my favorite's about summer..

evening walks, lighting bugs, summer bug song at night, shooting starts, s'mores, baseball, flowers, fresh veggies from the garden, ice cream, suntanned smiles and more flowers.

Love, Carla

  1. It all sounds so perfect! Yes please to that veggie loaded pizza. It's so good on the grill too!

  2. Wait, what? GRILLED pizza? OK I'm going to have to investigate ... TG with his new Char-Broil and all that. And yes to everything else, especially the pretty flowers! xoxo

  3. Lovely post! Thank you! -smile-

What a handsome young man, your fishing partner son is.

Ahhh yes, fireflies! Me'thinks they are about gone, here. So quickly... -sigh-

So we have to remember to enjoy them, while they are around!!!! -smile-

  4. Love all your July fun. Atticus is so handsome just like Sam. You got yourself some cuties. Glad you are enjoying summer. Hoping the rain will move out for us like they are predicting for next week. Sunshine and nice weather all next week. These weeks of so much rain lately is hard to take. Have a great weekend. xoxo Kris

  5. Your post is filled with awesome summer family fun. Nice fish, Atticus.

I hope the rest of the summer is as lovely.
    Hugs, Julia

  6. What a nice time you had fishing. Lovely bouquets. A beautiful fire and the pizza looks delicious. Congrats on his team winning the championship. Love your favorite things of summer. Enjoy your weekend.

  7. Hi Carla, This is a great photo of Atticus with his catch! My husband loves to fish and sometimes the neighbor takes him to his secret spots here in SC. I know you both enjoyed the special time together. It must have been fun to create July 4th bouquets. Your pizza and salad both look delicious. I love to enjoy meals outdoors in the summer. At a local restaurant recently, they offered sweet corn home made ice cream….I did not try it but it sure made me curious. When my great nephew recently visited my brother in Georgia, he was introduced to catching lightning bugs and placing them in a jar briefly. It brought back fond memories from mine and Karen’s childhood. Congrats to your little friends team for winning the championship! Thanks for this fun summer blog post. Mildred

  8. That's a nice fish. Did you cook and eat it? Your bouquet is beautiful, what are those glorious blue flowers?

  9. Yes, I'm a huge fan of summer, too. I wish it was a little longer, but I love it. We were in Door County last week, and I had a couple of big projects due this week, so now I'm trying to catch up. Enjoy the week ahead!

  10. Now this post TRULY captures the magic of summer! Glorious! Oh gosh, it's been years since I saw a photo of a regular person holding up a "home caught" fish! Brings back all the best memories of summer! Your pizza looks so good, next time eat an extra slice for me ha ha.

  11. Love this patriotic post, and I think i's so neat you were able to go fishing with Atticus. I bet your customers LOVED the patriotic bouquets for Independence Day. Baseball is always a good idea ;P

You've made some super memories so far this month! Have a fun weekend, My Friend!

  12. Carla, your list is so many of my favorite things too! Hummingbird is an addition. Sleeping with windows open!

  13. What a fun day that must have been to be out fishing with Atticus. Hope there are many more perfect days for you two to go out again!

  14. Carla, I just love your posts. They are so charming. How special that was that you and Atticus went fishing together at your favorite spot. The homemade grilled pizza looks so Yummy. Congratulations to your friend on his team winning the championship. That's a great accomplishment. Ice cream is a favorite of mine during Summertime too, Carla.

Have a beautiful week, dear friend.
