That Kind of Day

Hello Friends,

I have been chewing on a few things as of late.. our son's deployment, a  personal change for me and current events. I read the following from Charles Swindoll. It helped me and I decided to share it, just in case his words can help you as well.

Thoughts are the thermostat that regulates what we accomplish in life. My body responds and reacts to the input from my mind. If I feed my mind upon doubt, disbelief, and discouragement, that is precisely the kind of day my body will experience. If I adjust my thermostat forward to thoughts filled with vision, vitality, and victory, I can count on that kind of day.

You and I become what we think.

♥

  4. Yes, I think that's true, and it reminds me of the verse, Whatever is Lovely. I hope you get the answers you need, and may the Lord guide you during this time, dear friend.

I also left a comment on your Nachos Board, but I guess it was eaten up. That is so creative and wonderful. The girls entertain now and then, and they would love this idea.

Have a peaceful and restful weekend, Carla.

  6. I see the wisdom in this more and more. I know I must be aware of what is happening in the news and empathize with and pray for those who are hurting, I just cannot turn my heart away from the news. But I have to keep at the forefront what I know God's promises are and believe that he cries with us and will never forsake us. I'm no use to anyone if I sink in despair and forget how short our time here on earth really is. As a mama who still hurts when my adult children hurt, and worry for them even before there is something to worry about, I know that your son's deployment has to be in your every thought, Carla. Praying for Sam and for you.

  9. Good advice. I'm trying to remember these kinds of things as the Garden Bloggers Fling draws closer. I'm sooo looking forward to it and touring gardens with friends, but there are so many details and arrangements to make in the coming days and weeks. Praying for good weather, safe travels for everyone, and so much more. :)

  13. That's biblical! As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. And one of my favorite verses: Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. xoxo
