This and That

Hello Friends, today I am sharing a little of this and that with you.

I purchased and planted this peony two years ago and this was the first season for it to bloom.

Eskimo Pie is the name of the peony.

My husband and I cleaned our basement and three closets. We decided to have a sale. My husband named it the Driveway Sale, because it was not in the garage or in the yard.

Ms. Penelope... she does not understand when we turn on the central air in our house. She loves to lay on or in front of our heat vents during the heating season. When it is time to turn on the central air, she smells the vents and jumps back when the cold air blows out.

Shut the door, not that it lets in the cold ~ But that it lets out the cozyness.

I recently prepared 15 vases for a Celebration of Life. One of my customers who shops regularly at the Flower Shack contacted me about designing 15 vases for her Grandma's Celebration of Life.

Her grandma loved receiving a bouquet from the Flower Shack and was always impressed with how long the flowers lasted in the vase. I was so happy to hear that. I strive for vase life in designing my bouquets.

I was blessed to design the bouquets for the Celebration of Life.

The hardest part is the transport. I was happy to have my husband who is a master at packing help me make the bouquets secure for transport.

 Ready to go...

That is just a little of this and that happening in my neck of the woods.

  4. Miss Penelope is a beautiful cat and your Celebration of Life bouquets are lovely and your husband did a wonderful job packing them safely for transporting them.

Here we are not getting much sun but mostly rain and the gardens are struggling. Today is cool and wet and I will have to go check for potato beetles and their yellow eggs. I had to buy a new rain coat as we are getting frequent showers.

Take care and have fun creating more beautiful bouquets.
    Hugs, Julia

  8. How special for you to design the bouquets for the Celebration of Life. Silly Penelope! My cats don't do that, but they do seek out the sun spots more than ever when the a/c is on!

  9. Your vases are so pretty, Carla, and what a thoughtful gift. The Eskimo Pie peony is beautiful. Love the color of it. I wish I could have gone to your driveway sale. I really enjoy browsing through yard sales. I hope you did well selling all your things. I'm with Penelope on the cooler. I usually stand back when the cold air blows on me. What a lovely cat. The Mark Twain quote is very special. I may have to use that sometime. ; ) Your "this and that" posts make my heart happy, Carla.

  11. I'm hoping to add peonies next year. they are so very pretty...And, so are the flowers you did for the celebration of life. Transporting that many can be a difficult thing. So cute how Penelope likes the heat but stays away from the cool. Hormones must not have set in yet...lol.
