Hello Friends, it is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. What's one task you'd like a little Christmas elf to sneak in and take care of tonite?
I wanted to do more Christmas baking than I will actually have time to do. I had a few new cookie recipes I wanted to try, but if that elf does not show up, I do not think I will have time to get to those extra cookies.
2. What's your biggest challenge during the holidays?
I always want to do more... but we only have so many hours in a day and weeks in December.
3. Are you a cookie baker this time of year? If your year had to be summed up in the shape of a cookie cutter what shape would it be?
I am a cookie baker this time of year. I will be baking up my boys favorite this weekend. If my year had to be summed up in a shape of a cookie cutter what shape would it be?
A Raised Bed, we built my dream garden this October. We built 12 raised beds. I have always wanted a raised bed garden, I am so excited for spring and the 2025 garden season.
4. Santa likes milk with his cookies. Do you like milk? What kind of milk is on tap in your house? (whole, 2%, skim, almond, oat, etc). What's the last thing you made that called for milk?
I do like milk. Whole milk here at our house. Milk in my oatmeal for my breakfast.. add a few walnuts and craisins. Yum!
5. Share one favorite line from a Christmas carol or holiday tune?
At this time, I have been humming this one all day long...
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
One of my boys favorite Christmas books when they were little.
I'd love to have some raised beds (maybe not 12 lol) but we don't have the right sort of lot to do that. I'm sure yours will be fabulous! Enjoy the cookie baking. I need a little more space in the calendar to bake all I'd like to do too.
ReplyDeleteAlways love your answers sweet friend. I want to get a few more batches of cookies done hopefully this week. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteIs that a framed stitching you did? So pretty. Hopefully the Elf will show up to bake those cookies. I'm sure your decorations are lovely. Good for you baking for the boys. I'm glad your love your raised beds. Yummy breakfast. I do not know the song you shared. Looks like a sweet book. Hope the rest of your week goes well.
ReplyDeleteThe embroidery is so pretty! I do enjoy baking, but am trying to simplify and not do as much this year. I asked everyone for their favorite, not to be missed Christmas cookie - of course everyone chose different, haha!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy looking at the raised bed gardens of others! Several folks in our neighborhood have tower gardens - hydroponic - and they are also so cool.
ReplyDeleteI love O come Emmanuel! It may be my favorite Christmas song.
ReplyDeleteChristmas gets closer and closer.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your answers.
Take care and enjoy your days.
All the best Jan
What a wonderful song. I did not bake one cookie this year for Christmas and I so wanted to. Maybe I will be able to make some once I am on vacation. Janice
ReplyDeleteFun holiday thoughts. :) We have some challenging family situations this year, so I'm really trying not to overdo it. Also, without snow (although not really complaining), I'm not as in the spirit as I usually am at this point in December. Your framed needlework is beautiful. <3
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I wish December was a supersized month. There just never seems like enough time to get everything done, no matter how early I start. I always make time for cookies though!! Happy baking!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that this was a favorite books of your boys at Christmas. I was just going through children's books yesterday and sorting them out. So many memories arose when looking at them. My son loves whole milk too, Carla. Your oatmeal with walnuts and craisins sounds wonderful. And your time baking sounds very nice. It's my favorite time of the year to bake too.

I never seem to have enough time for everything and I'm retired! I need to be better at using my time.
ReplyDeleteYum...now I'm craving some oatmeal with craisins!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a gardener (as you know) and not a particularly accomplished cookie baker but if I were going to be a cookie cutter it would be in the shape of a pirate flag. Hahaha xoxo
ReplyDeleteIf only we could sneak in an extra couple days to do all we want to do!
