Hello Friends,
It is Wednesday, at that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
Before we get started, last week Joyce asked about our favorite Christmas movie. I wanted to share the above book I checked out at the library. A few of the titles that make the list surprised me.
1. What's the best $5 gift to give someone?
Making plans to meet for coffee, your treat.. most coffee around my neck of the woods costs just about $5.00.
Coffee + Time with a Friend = BEST GIFT
2. What's your favorite way to relax/unwind during the busy holiday season?
We like to sit and admire our tree. Usually in the evening, with our fireplace crackling, a few candles glowing and our tree twinkling. We will talk about our day/evening and usually start to reminisce too.
3. How do you feel about gingerbread? Love it or no thanks? Are gingerbread houses a part of your holiday tradition? If you said yes, how does that look? Do you like ginger flavor in other kinds of dishes?
I love gingerbread cookies.
We have done gingerbread houses. They are not part of our yearly holiday tradition. We will not be creating one this year.
I do like ginger in other dishes, it is a favorite spice of mine.
4. December 5th is National Blue Jeans Day...will you be celebrating? Do
you have a favorite brand? A favorite pair? Do you have a hard time
parting with a favorite pair of jeans? Blue jeans-joggers-leggings-yoga
pants...which one do you wear most often?
Will I be celebrating, yes.
I wear blue jeans just about every day, in the summer I wear blue jean shorts.
I wear a few different brands.
I do have a favorite pair of blue jean shorts.
Yes, I have a hard time parting with a favorite pair. My favorite garden jeans are so soft from years of wear, but soon I know holes will appear in places that will not look good.
Blue jeans are what a wear most.. love them.
5. As we head into this holiday season what's your biggest priority or goal for the end of the year?
I started a Bible study at the start of the year.. only a few weeks left and I am right on track to finish strong.
6. Insert your own random thought here.

Love all your answers. Ha Ha I love wearing my fave blue jeans so I am glad they made a day for them lol! Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteCarla, I like the warm atmosphere that you create and how you spend a quiet evening admiring your Christmas tree with your best friend and go over your day together. Throw in a cuddly dog and it's a perfect evening...
ReplyDeleteI wear blue jeans too but I've given up my shorts for Capri pants since I no longer have those bothersome hot flashes especially now that I'm getting older. lol...
Hugs, Julia
I love White Christmas. I have several old movies that I watch before Christmas day. Plans to meet for coffee is an awesome idea. Admiring the tree is very relaxing. I do like gingerbread but seldom have it. I need to pick up some cookies. Glad you love your blue jeans. They are pretty awesome. Way to go on the Bible study. Love your random and I need to start listening to some Christmas music. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteWhy are blue jeans so hard to part with?? I own a carpet cleaning company and work in my jeans every single day. They have stains and holes and snags, but they're so reliable I just don't want to go through the trouble of finding another pair.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I've kept a pair beyond their natural life : ) I love that song and it's not one that's played often. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on wearing denim just about every day, year-round. It's so comfy. Happy December!
ReplyDeleteYep, we're twinning our answer to number 1. Sitting and enjoying the tree with a fire crackling would be so lovely. Hats off to you for staying on track for your Bible Study. Hope the rest of your week goes well.
ReplyDeleteI love gingerbread, and have made our coffee corner a gingerbread theme this winter.
ReplyDeleteFinishing strong in your bible study is such a good feeling! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wear jeans—I always have—but lately, I have been having a hard time finding soft ones. My aged skin is getting thin and sensitive to anything stiff or scratchy. I'll be wearing jeans tomorrow if I get them in the wash. Today I'm wearing black- colored jeans. Do they count?
Totally agree with your answer to #1 - spending time together and coffee is a gift both can appreciate! Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe Man Who Came To Dinner is one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. So fun!! Great answers, I love watching the tree with the fireplace crackling in the background, too!!
ReplyDeleteI love ginger, and am a fool for soft molasses cookies with lots of spice. I guess I'll wear jeans today :)
ReplyDeleteMy Levis jeans might be my favorite but I have been loving Abercrombies denim. I know, crazy to say that in 2024 right?! My husband even loves them!
ReplyDeleteYum...Gingerbread! I just got rid of my most comfortable pair of jeans because they were so beat up! My favorite brand is Risen. I have to check out some of these movies!
ReplyDeleteI too have my favourite make of jeans!
ReplyDeleteGingerbread is nice but it's a mini mince pie for me! Yum!
Keep enjoying your December days.
All the best Jan
If I could find 100% cotton blue jeans, I would be very happy. I miss those and can only find ones that have some lycra or some such fake material in them.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post about the tree ornaments, too. Hopefully, ours will be up on the tree this weekend.
I am partial to gingerbread cookie but am not a fan of ginger. I usually fish the ginger out of curries and make a pile on my husbands plate.
ReplyDeleteLove the movie you posted, but it's been a few years since I've seen it. We don't really watch Christmas movies; but I often see things on line or clip of this or that. I like gingerbread, but I don't bake so it won't be a part of Christmas celebration. I only have one pair of jeans, as I don't wear them. I wear leggings. I've never thought jeans were comfortable.
ReplyDeleteA ginger snap is just about my favorite cookie! I mean besides an Oreo, hahaha! I avidly read your list of Christmas movies. My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott as Scrooge but a close second would be Remember the Night with Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck! Love that movie ... xoxo
