Hello Friends, it is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge. We are going back to 2016 for this weeks Hodgepodge. A memory for me in 2016, it was my first year as a flower vendor at the Bruce Farmers' Market. I had my first meeting in January of 2016 with the Bruce Farmers' Market team. They were a special group of people, very welcoming and helpful as I started my first year setting up my flower shop at the market.
Joyce asks the questions. We answer the questions.
1. Ice skating, skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, playing in the snow, or a snowy walk...which winter activity do you choose? Have you done any of these activities so far this winter? We enjoy going skiing, snowshoeing and snowy walks. A snow walk, we have done several of those. We enjoyed this sunset last week as we walked along the river. |
2. Everyone is posting pictures from ten years ago on their social media sites so let's jump on the bandwagon too. Share one photo and one thought to go with said photo from the year 2016. And maybe everyone isn't doing this, but many are and we're going to be part of the fun.
| As I mentioned above, 2016 was my first year as a vendor at the Bruce Farmers' Market. Here is my car all loaded with flowers and more to set up my flower shop at the market. |
My set up at the Farmer's Market.
3. What's a trend you hope disappears in this new year? |
I am out of the loop. I do not know of any trends. Hee Hee!
I am not active on social media sites, just my blog and reading my favorite blogs. So I actually did not even know the posting of the 2016 photos was a thing until I signed up to do the Hodgepodge.
4. 'They' say there's a day for everything and January 21st proves it. National Granola Bar Day. Do you like granola bars? How about just regular granola? Do you like bars of other kinds?
I do like granola bars. I also like regular granola.
My husband and I like Nature's Bakery Fig Bars.
5. A frozen lake, a trickling stream, a raging river, or a deep well...which one describes something about your life right now? Elaborate as much or as little as you like.
A trickling stream... my husband and I are going to be starting up a project we set aside in November to celebrate the holidays. We got a start this past weekend. We are going to take it slow and steady. We are moving our office to a different part of our home, it requires a bit of reorganization that is the easy part. The hard part is it also requires some electrical work.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
My husband designed two new racks for us. I love acorns, so he did an oak tree and acorns. We decided this is also a great key rack. And that brings me to ask you, where do you keep your keys? On a hook? On a table?
I have been guilty of leaving the keys in my jacket pocket. And when our kids would go to use the car and the keys were not on the key rack, my husband would yell "Check mom's jacket pockets."

We keep our keys in a drawer but mine are often in my purse. We are currently missing a car key (extra) and I suspect it is in a coat, but so far no luck. Bother. Your flowers are so pretty! Do you still sell at the market?
ReplyDeleteI love the key rack. We really do not have too many keys anymore. I have a key fob that I keep in my purse to start my car. Terry has keys for the fire stations and his office and he does hang them on a hook in the laundry room. We come in through the garage to the mud/laundry room so that door stays unlocked so no key needed. Everything is on automatic locks now but I do have a spare key under the front mat in case of power outage. I remember when you had your first flower show. I would have. bought everyone of your bouquets. Have a great rest of the week my friend. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteI had heard of the 2016 trend but I'm not on any of the SM sites where it was popularized. Great pic of you and your flowers from 2016. My daughter's boyfriend's family has a flower farm. They started it quite recently but it's really "blooming" and taking off. I love to see pictures of your flowers and produce! That river pic sure is pretty. I love that you are intentional about getting out in the cold weather. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI need a rack like that....I just keep all my key fob in my purse and my other keys in my car...I know..this is not smart. Most of the time, I can not find my keys. lol. How exciting to be getting a new office and reorganizing everything. We did this very same thing about 5 years ago and wow, what a difference it made for us. All of the Winter sports are great exercise...So neat..
ReplyDeleteHubby is vary talented. I am also out of the loop with trends...probably better off too. LOL Janice
ReplyDeleteI have a wooden box with a lid, that says, " keys" where all the keys "should be". I keep my fob in my purse. I'm not into trends or social media.
ReplyDeleteHaving a beautiful flower stand at a market sounds like a fun job.
Love your flower table at the Farmer's market! Such reasonable prices, too! I would definitely stop at your table. Fun memory. Your project sounds intriguing. Hope the electrical is not a bother but a smooth project! I didn't doubt that you enjoyed all things winter. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI keep my keys hooked on my purse with a caribiner and the rest of our keys are hanging on a rack with hooks close to the back door. Our initial wedding bands have acorns and oak leaves on them. :)
DeleteYour key rack is so nice. I have to remember to clip my keys to my purse. The flowers look so nice. Good luck with your office move!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have a flower stall. All the flowers look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful sunset.
Good luck with moving the office and the rack is fab! Your husband is very talented.
I love the acorn rack! Phil leaves his keys in his pocket. which caused us to be locked out of the car last week. My favorite here is the joyful photo of you with your car loaded with flowers for the market.
ReplyDeleteLOL ... I too am out of the loop with trends.
ReplyDeleteThe sunset last week was beautiful.
All the best Jan
The rack is so pretty! I bet you love taking your keys of your pocket now. We are expecting tons of snow this weekend, but I don't plan on going out there. Brrrr!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a multi-purpose rack in the kitchen that has hooks for keys, a pot for pens a little ledge plus clips for papers but it's not as pretty as yours.
ReplyDeletewe have a small key hook thing in the entry way where we hang our keys - not nearly as pretty as the one you have! Enjoyed reading your answers today - hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of you on your way to the flower market is so cute! I had no idea you had a flower shop. The rack is wonderful. I don't know trends anymore either, haha.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you did your flowers at the Farmer's Market. Good for you to take advantage of the snowy days. Your display of flowers looks lovely. Nice to hear that you like granola. I hope your office move goes well. Love your new key rack. Very nice. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your answers. Your flowers are beautiful and I love that rack.
ReplyDeleteThe water and sky photograph is very pretty and I love that you sold flowers. What a neat thing to do. Cheers, Ivy. PS: Been there with moving rooms around. Slow and steady wins the race and in the end, it's gonna be wonderful, I bet.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing key rack! Your project sounds like a good one to take slow! I don't get the 2016 trend but I've seen a lot of it.You look so cute going to the market!
ReplyDeleteYour farmers market table is so perfect!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried Crapola Granola? It's made in Ely, MN.
