Crafting and Making and Designing

Hello Friends, it is a crafting, making and designing post.

I wanted to make some garlands for our home for the holiday. I wanted something simple and old fashioned. I decided on paper-chains and dried oranges.

The fragrance of the oranges drying in the oven adds to the fragrances of the holiday season.

I had some old sheet music I purchased at a library sale. I used the old sheet music to create my paper-chain and snowflake.

A few weeks back I mentioned my husband designed and made a new coat rack for us. He asked me what I would like for a design. I asked for oak trees, leaves and acorns.

Have you been up to any crafting, making or designing?

  1. I made a toy for my cats by tying a string around a paper wad, so there's that.

  3. Your hubby did an awesome job creating your coat racks. I also love your garlands. I made paper ornaments one year for my Winter tree. It was fun. Janice

  4. Have I ever made crafts, handicrafts, or designs? I still remember when I was in elementary school in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia , in the 1970s. My teacher assigned us to make an ashtray from a coconut shell. It was simple, but I still remember it clearly even now, more than 50 years later.

  6. Carla...you did such a wonderful job with drying the oranges and using them as decorations. I used dried oranges on my Christmas tree this year...oops, last year. Your husband is talented..the coat rack is so neat. I've not had time as of yet to be creative this month..Well, I did make a faux flower arrangement. The flowers at Hobby Lobby were on sale, so I purchased enough to make the arrangement that added some color in the living room. Crafting is so relaxing and fun.... Happy Monday.

  7. I made some clay stars during the Christmas break and it felt so good to do a craft project! I love the orange slice garland and the sheet music paper chain. Can you smell the oranges still?

  8. I haven't done any crafts, painting or anything creative. My craft room needs a good clean out, since the holidays. I really like your dried oranges. I used to do that as well as apples and make a wreath that lasted a couple of years! I like the sheet music idea, and love the coat rack! Very creative.
