Hello June and it is the Hodgepodge

Hello Friends,

The iris are blooming. The peonies have huge blossoms ready to pop open any day. The roses are forming buds. Welcome to June in Wisconsin.

It is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.

Joyce asks the questions.

We answer the questions.

1.What's something you find extremely difficult that most people would say is simple?

I struggle keeping up with technology.  Thankfully I have a "high tech" husband and both of our boys will help me.

2.  "And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow fast in movies I  had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer."
~F. Scott Fitzgerald

Does the season of summer make you feel this way? Elaborate.

No, summer does not make me feel this way. I feel more of a restart in the spring.

 3. Pickles. Love 'em or no thank you? What's your favorite type of pickle? What's something you eat that definitely needs a pickle added?

I love pickles. We make a refrigerator pickle. We grow cucumbers for pickling. My mom also makes her own pickles and our entire family gobbles up my mom's pickles.
I love pickles on a hamburger. I also love to eat them right out of the jar.

 4. Tis the season...do you know any June brides? Are there any weddings on your summer calendar? What's your favorite movie wedding?

My sister is a June bride.
No weddings for us this year.
The Sound of Music wedding is a favorite.

 5. June 1st is/was National Say Something Nice Day...say something nice here.

"I love your smile."

 6. Insert your own random thought here.

There was an owl lived in a oak.
The more he heard, the less he spoke.
The less he spoke, the more he heard.
If men were all like that wise bird.

  1. Beautiful flower pictures! I feel the same way about the Fitzgerald quote- what he says about summer is more spring to me. I have not had good luck with cucumbers in the garden- I'm hoping that will change this year because I love to make pickles, too, with garden cucumbers. My husband is pretty "high tech" as well which is wonderful. Looking forward to seeing more pics of your amazing garden this summer :).

  2. Those iris are spectacular! I love them. Mine are trying to open and they're late this year. The weather has been all over the map so I gues that's why. I thought they might not bloom, but they're trying now. My mother-in-law and my daughter's mother-in-law both make refrigerator pickles and keep us stocked. I'm not great at most things tech but my girls are and they help when I need help. Have a great day!

  3. Love the poem. Sooooo true. I know seeing your flowers in bloom makes your heart sing. I am a big pickle fan. Love all types especially when gifted with homemade. Have a great week ahead. Hugs. Kris

  4. I struggle to keep up with technology too. Thank goodness for my girls who keep me right.
I had totally forgotten about The Sound of Music wedding. That was a good one.

  5. You're the second one to say Sound of Music! I had forgotten that one. Wow those Irises are gorgeous! Technology - I enjoy it! I'm that person for my husband. He knows the basics but really, he doesn't have the patience - plus he knows I will fix it which sometimes can be difficult for me! Anyway, nice post today Carla.
