| Our lupines bloomed so well this season. |
Happy June my friends,
The year is flying by for me. I am struggling to keep up with all the adventures I want to share with you here on the blog. Yes, we are still doing our 52 day dates, but I have not been able to keep up posting. One day I will dump it all on you.
We went thrifting for one of our day dates. We had a great day and found a treasure. I will get around to sharing soon.
In the meantime, let us go for a stroll in the garden. Meet our new kitty, pick out your favorite bouquet to take home and take a peek at a special gift.
Our son Sam needed help with one of his kitties, Benny. We adopted Benny. He is adjusting well to his new home.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary on May 31st. Our friend J made us this lovely pillow. Each rectangle is a piece of history. The cloth is from the 1930's.
(a rich history dating back to the 1930s when flour companies began printing colorful designs and sewing patterns on cotton bags to help struggling families make their own clothing during the Great Depression)
Flowers and more flowers. Photos of a few bouquets I have made.
Our peony have done so well this season.
Decorating for the big birthday party. I created a red, white and blue theme of planters on the front deck. I will share more as they grow and fill in.
I also created a bed with red, white, blue flowers and plants that is at the front of our property that you can see from the street. Happy Birthday America!
Taking a peek at one more bouquet. Iris, peony and bees balm are used in this bouquet.
Do you have a favorite?
♥
Carla

So many beautiful blooming things! I am partial to iris and peony both so it would be hard to choose. I love your porch display.
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty! What a beautiful pillow and thanks for sharing about the history of flour bags. Your flowers are all so pretty. I don't see lupines here much but I would imagine they grow here? I'll have to look into that! Your displays are so, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you're keeping the 52 dates going. That sounds fun. Love the flowers. So pretty to see.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. OMG that pillow is gorgeous and prettier because it was made with love. That is interesting about the flour companies. I want that world back where things like that were done for people. Have a great new week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty and that pillow! I have many old quilts and quilt tops from my Grandma. I especially love your assorted potted plants and flowers on your porch. Beautiful picture.
ReplyDeleteCarla, I love your red, white, and blue themed pot area on your front porch. What a special pillow your friend gave you. It looks similar to a quilt. It has such special meaning, and I love that the fabric is from the 1930's. You got a new kitty! I hope him and Ernie get along well. Your bouquets are so pretty, and I think my favorite is the last one with that beautiful Purple!
ReplyDeleteA happy June week to you, Carla.
A date thrifting sounds like a lot of fun! Aww! Benny looks like such a sweetheart and happy anniversary to you and your husband. All the flowers are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow - yay for BENNY!!! I love your new kitty. The arrangement is gorgeous, such rich color.
ReplyDeleteOops, I forgot I cleared my history/cookies this morning.
DeleteI am partial to purple iris but all of your flowers and plants are precious. I love coleus too. It just makes me happy. I love your patriotic arrangements. Benny looks content! Sweet boy! A belated but no less sincere Happy Anniversary to you and Jeremy! xoxo ♥️
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers! I love peonies!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite is the last one. I love the combination of the deep blue and pink. All the pots on the porch are so pretty, and I love the one with the flowers painted on it. Your Lupines are a beautiful color, and they look so good beside the birdbath. Here, we only see the orange kind, which are not that pretty. How old is Benny?
ReplyDeleteBenny looks cute. How sweet that you adopted him. That pillow is awesome. The flowers are beautiful. That's a lovely display on the porch. How nice that people can see those flowers from the street. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers 💐 and your cat 🐈 is adorable.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteAh, sweet kitty. And your Irises, Peonies, and Lupines are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers. I never had any luck with peonies. I had several in the yard when we moved in and they would be loaded with blooms, but never open. I ended up digging them up. I was told you need ants to pollinate them, and we had lots of ants. So, don't know what the problem was. Cute little pillow, Happy Anniversary. We'll celebrate our 54th in just a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteOh Carla...I am liking what I see in all of your pictures. The flowers...the purple flowers are gorgeous. Your place is filled with so much beauty...I know you just want to hang out OUTSIDE all the time. Have a good week....
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!! Your flowers are coming along so pretty. I added flags to my flower pots too! I sure hope Ernie is liking Benny. Our kitties did not like Tundra. Never did. Janice
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful pillow that your friend made as your anniversary gift, Carla! All your bouquets are so colorful and lovely. Your peonies are amazing! I’ll look forward to when you share all your date nights. Have a great week 😘

ReplyDeleteBenny is a sweetheart. He will love his new home.
Your garden bouquets are so special. Those peonies are gorgeous and so are your lupines.
I decorated for the special 250th birthday as well.
Happy Tuesday!
The flowers are all beautiful. I don't think I have seen any lupines in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite picture is the very last one of the iris/peony/bees balm bouquet.
Your flowers are so lovely. How are the cat and your dog getting on together? Belated happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYour lupines are gorgeous. I love the peony, iris, bee balm arrangement too. The red white and blue display is so pretty!! Hi Benny! I need to know more about him. He's so cute!
