Autumn is in the air.
Apples are ripe. Thoughts of apple crisp and apple pie are in our taste buds.
I like to add Pumpkin Pie Spice to my apple crisp, apple pie ,oatmeal cookies and other Autumn baking. It is easy to make your own Pumpkin Pie Spice.
Gather the following:
Ground Cinnamon
Ground Ginger
Ground Nutmeg
Ground All Spice
Ground Cloves
Ground Cardamon
In a container, mix the following together
1 Tablespoon of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of ground all spice
1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon of ground cardamon
I triple this, and put into a fun jelly jar.
Your homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice will also make a great gift.
Have you made your favorite Autumn treat?
I made Apple Crisp last week and Atticus is asking for Pumpkin Bars.
Happy Baking!
Yum! I can't wait for anything pumpkin. I'll have to try your pumpkin pie spice. The one I have doesn't have cardamon in it.
ReplyDeleteLove love pumpkin time! I tried the Pumpkin Pie Iced Capp at Tim Hortns and loved it! Need to make some pumpkin bread with your spice recipe now. TFS Janice
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any Fall desserts yet, but apple crisp sounds pretty good to me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pumpkin spice mix recipe.
Thank you so much! I bought the perfect jars to make rubs this summer and never got around to it! But baking in the fall and winter is one of my favorite things to do. Love this!

What a great idea! These jars would make great hostess gifts.
ReplyDeleteI don't bake sweets any longer due to J's diabetes but we used to love apple butter bars....apple butter with oatmeal.
I bet your house smells delicious.

Thank you for this!! I never use pumpkin pie spice in anything but now that I know the spices in it, I definitely want to! Pinning this for future use!
