Hello, it is Friday.
Time to take a trip. Today we are heading out for a ski on the Totogatic Ski Trail.
This trail is easy to find, it is just off of HWY 53 a few miles North of Minong, Wisconsin.
Hiking is allowed Spring, Summer and Autumn. A beautiful groomed ski trail is ready for use after the first significant snow fall.
Let us go ski!
A beautiful ski trail in a full grown forest. |
Adirondack Shelter, a perfect place to rest and have a snack. |
The ski trail continues in a marsh area. Tamarack, wild cranberries and cattails were in abundance along this part of the trail. |
A Winter bouquet just for you. |
Looking up at the beautiful Winter sky. |
On the way out. We skied the 9.8 km loop. We had two hills that gave us some trouble. They were very sharp turns and trees very close to you. Happy to report all made it back to the truck with all bones in place. We plan to ski this loop again this weekend. It may be our last ski of the 2014/2015 ski season. Wisconsin is to start to warm up!
Have a great weekend.
And thank you for skiing along with me.
Carla
I love how you spend your Fridays with the family having fun. I love walking in the woods but haven't done it in years.
ReplyDeleteI bet it's hot chocolate once you all get home,
Hugs,

What a pretty place, Carla. I have never heard of that park before. Enjoy your skiing- they are saying FORTY degree temps next week. Can't believe it and won't until it happens. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty trail, Carla. I am not a snow lover, I would rather walk it in the spring or summer, but you make skiing look enticing ~ I'm just too cold to venture out! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to say, your pictures are absolutely stunning! I know I say it a lot, but it's so true! I live with waist high in snow right now and the images you capture are more beautiful then the brown mountains of snow that surround us at this point! Thank you for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful place to visit.

It's been a while since a bad knee made me give up xcountry. Thanks for letting me tag along, Carla....:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trail!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place to ski, you must feel so small against those trees and that landscape.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing photos of this pretty place. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice place to spend a day.. Winter is on it\s way out, eh? We surely hope so anyway..
ReplyDeleteLovely pics, my friend. xo
I haven't seen cattails in years! I remember my mom always having them around. Thanks for taking us traveling again today :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Here, a bit south of you we're finally above freezing. The snow is starting to melt and it feels as if spring really might be on the way.
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying the weekend!
Gorgeous views--if only it wasn't so cold. But it sounds like soon all that snow will be melted and the wildflowers will be starting to bloom. :) Your shot of the treetops is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic way to spend the day. Makes me think I need to take up cross country skiing. Love all the big trees and blue skies.
ReplyDeleteLovely! The pictures were very nice and I can imagine that trail must be a beautiful place for walking.
ReplyDeleteOh that looks like fun, and it's so beautiful. It's been on my list since we moved up here to go back to cross country skiing. Maybe next winter...

Hi Carla, thank you so much for stopping by my blog and giving me encouragement. I love this post. This is how I grew up in Sweden, skiing and skating during the long winter months. There's nothing like it.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful place, Carla. I wonder what it would look like as the snow melts.
