Hello, Welcome to On the Road Friday.
We are going to take a trip to Duluth, Minnesota to the Symphony Hall and enjoy Sleeping Beauty ~ The Ballet Story.
The performance was presented by the Minnesota Ballet Company.
The DECC
If you’re looking for entertainment in Northeastern Minnesota, look no further. The DECC is home to the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Broadway series, concerts, Home and Sports Shows, Minnesota Ballet, UMD Men’s and Women’s Bulldog Hockey and the William A. Irvin ore boat museum.
Nice and warm inside the Symphony Hall.
Looking out at Lake Superior
Comfortable seating for the ballet.
This was a first for our boys. I enjoy ballet, I was not sure if they would or not. I wanted to treat them to a ballet. Sleeping Beauty is a story they already know, so I thought it would be a good ballet for them to experience.
To my delight, they loved it.
We are not allowed to take photos during the performance...so I leave you with
Once Upon A Time
Do you enjoy ballet? Do you have a favorite?
Hi Carla, What a lovely building with incredible views. I confess I have never been to a ballet! I think it would be a wonderful treat. So glad you guys had this opportunity. Wishing each of you a happy weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteI was a ballerina! I have the beaten toe shoes in the attic to prove it! Never danced Sleeping Beauty, but it's a favorite and the movie too, of course. I love that song. Know it by heart and even though the preschool binge movie watching days are over, we still sing it around the house pretty often. Happy Friday and thanks for the fun post!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a ballet. But it does look interesting. you sure have exposed your boys to a lot of things. I wish more people would do that. That building is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic photos of one of my favorite cities! We've not been to that building, but it sure looks like it was a wonderful time. I do enjoy ballet, but usually watch it at home on PBS Great Performances.I also love our granddaughter's ballet, Reign Dance Theatre. Seeing that great shot of the lake and lift bridge through the window makes me want to get up there again soon!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I've never been to a ballet (except Nutcracker). Sounds like such a great experience!
ReplyDeleteI love ballet and this would be a favorite for me too. It's been years since I've been. I need to find out what we could go to here. It's so nice to get dressed up and go to something like this. Enjoy your weekend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to the Ballet for years ... I used to enjoy the whole experience.
ReplyDeleteLovely post and your photo's just great.
All the best Jan

Carla, the Sleeping Beauty Ballet sounds fantastic! So glad your boys enjoyed it. And Lake Superior is so lovely. Yes, I do have a favorite ballet. The girls go to the Nutcracker every Christmas, and I join them sometimes as well. :~)

What a gorgeous theater to see the ballet! I love the Alabama Ballet. Recently we've seen The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, and Dracula.
