Mrs. Rabbit

It all started as I walked around the corner to spy someone looking at me inside my greenhouse.

Oh goodness, Mrs. Rabbit is inside the greenhouse.
look towards the bottom of the door

Not only was she inside the greenhouse, upon further inspection I found that she was making a nest in among the cabbage.

Oh goodness! What kind of gardener has a rabbit living in her greenhouse?

I did not want to be rude, but I would need to ask Mrs. Rabbit if she would comply to a rental agreement regarding setting up house in my greenhouse.

Yes, Mrs. Rabbit, you will need to sign your name on the dotted line... no eating vegetables or flowers, you are welcome to eat all the weeds you like.

Well, can you believe it, she would not sign the dotted line.

Mrs. Rabbit looking over the property!

My husband quickly made up a screen door for the greenhouse.

I am thinking of making a sign that says "No Vacancy" !

  1. Awe, what a cute post. She taught that she had found the perfect glass palace. hehe.
I kind of feel sorry for it but on the other hand, she better find some other accommodation. Rabbits multiplies fast.

Your little hot house looks very productive.

I've discovered we have a gopher in the neighbourhood and possibly more. He dug up one of my tomato plant and just threw it on the side of the garden with all the roots exposed to the wind and sun. I replanted it and watered well and today it was pulled out and all wilted. My son in law replanted it and I put two bricks on each side to discourage the pesky critter from digging it up again.

  2. No pity for Mrs. Rabbit: She doesn't belong in there! (I'm sort of kidding, but after years and years of witnessing my plants being eaten by her relatives, I have very little empathy for the long-eared, fanged critters. ;-) ) I'm glad you found a solution!

  3. Oh my gosh! So cute. It's odd, if they eat desert plants like lantana and some other flowering plants, they grow back so well and hardy, but they do look terrible at first. Not great when they eat your food! xoxo Su

  4. Ha ha. Animals can be so nosy they can't resist going where they shouldn't. We have had a lovely young cat visiting our garden, which is fine, but she's started to venture into the kitchen and beyond if we're not observant. Yesterday she nearly got shut in the cellar!

  6. Oh that rabbit wanted to raise her family in the supermarket of veggies. The screen door is a great idea. Blessings, stay well, xoxo, Susie

  7. Oh if I were Mrs. Rabbit I would have taken up living in that cute greenhouse especially with it stocked full of yummies to eat. I think the screen door is a great idea. Have a wonderful week Carla.

  8. She thought she had it made...free shelter and unlimited goodies!! So cute!! The bunnies have returned to our yard as well. It's good to see them back even though they can be bad for the garden!

  11. Haha! Cute post,Carla. The rabbits have been snacking on Joshua's winecups, so I went to Home Depot and bought some blood meal. I told him to spread it around the base of the plants and it would keep the bunnies away. It did the trick. He just has to reapply after rain or watering, but that's not a big deal. But, no! Rabbits cannot live in your greehouse! xo
