That busy time of the season is upon us. At times the Christmas season feels rather like a marathon.. in getting all the decorations up, the holiday baking done, mailing out Christmas cards, gifts purchased and wrapped.
This season, I am going to reflect on wonderful memories. I plan to be gentle with myself and not fret about doing it all. I will be thankful for spring, summer, autumn and winter. I will be thankful for family and friends.

I think you have a very good plan for the season. People can sometimes be so hard on themselves, especially during the holidays, trying to do far too much, far too perfectly!
ReplyDeleteGood attitude to have going into this busy time of year. Being together and sharing time is the best gift. Happy Weekend. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. The thankfulness and the picture.
ReplyDeleteYou are a wise woman, Carla. A grateful heart is a happy heart.
ReplyDeleteI woke up with a blanket of snow this morning. It's looking like Christmas morning without the fuss.
Hugs, Julia
That's a great attitude to have Carla. We will have everyone here at Christmas and I'm trying not to panic about it. It will all be ok!
ReplyDeleteAmen. I try to do just a little bit every day. Wise words.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not going to do as much decorating this year. I'm going to take it easier and get out in nature more. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh, I need to print this post and hang it on the refrigerator. Thank you Carla.
ReplyDeleteYes, good advice. Our holidays seem naturally simpler in recent years...with COVID keeping us home, and after losing our two moms. We are having smaller gatherings and traveling less. It is simpler, although we miss the ones who have passed.
ReplyDeleteI love this! This will be the first time I've decorated for Christmas in 2 years...we have a tree and I'm good with that! Love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteVery nice words about being gentle with yourself, my dear friend. And I love your Christmas tree. Still have to get mine, but I continue to use the colored lights, as always. ; )
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week ahead, Carla.

Love your thoughts. I'm with you...I just want to take one day at a time and enjoy just being in that day. I want to enjoy the season...
ReplyDeleteUgh ... it is certainly tempting to fret. You'd think after all these years, it would be a snap for me to put it all together. For some reason, this year I am dreading it all. I need an attitude adjustment! Haaahaha take care Carla xoxo
ReplyDeleteI understand wat you are saying...and so wish I could just stop for a moment and smell the roses...or the pine right now, but alas with worrying about my daughter and our two small businesses the way the economy is right now...well its kinda hard not to fret and worry. Bur I will try my best. Janice
ReplyDeleteAmen! I have actually gotten a lot of things done but I have a lot more to do. I pray that your Christmas is awesome in every way.
ReplyDeleteDoing the same over here...or trying to, anyway! I put out less decorations, simple, and am focusing more on being present with my family, rather than the presents. xxoo
ReplyDeleteThis is a good plan and I should follow suit!
ReplyDeleteSounds a very good plan.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
