Hello Friends,
I have got good news.. the kitchen project is coming along well. The walls are painted, the upper cabinets are painted and installed. The floor is complete.
To give you a little peek.
Our kitchen was all white with a few accent colors.
Ripping out the lower counter top and cabinets.
Taking the wallpaper down was not as hard as I thought it would be.
We are keeping this cabinet.. it will have a fresh coat of paint and new hardware.
And for a little peek at what we are doing..
Our kitchen is playing off the colors of the one below called Sunny Backdrop.
My husband has named our kitchen, A Summer's Day.. it is coming along.. thank you for cheering these DIY's on.

Oh my gosh how exciting. I cannot wait to see your summer's day kitchen. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteWell, that is so exciting Carla! I know you will be so thrilled to have a re-done kitchen! Lots of work for sure, but it will be so worth it in the end! I love the Summer's Day color theme, beautiful, bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteOoh I can't wait to see it! I bet it's looking gorgeous with those colors. A Summer's Day can't come soon enough!

Oh Carla, can't wait to see your kitchen! What a delightful name your husband has named it. I'm glad you kept that cabinet with the glass. I've been wanting a glass cabinet for my coffee cups and such. They are so nice to have in the kitchen. I'm so happy for you, Carla, and you're both doing a terrific job!

ReplyDeleteOMG my old house had borders in almost every room. Thank god I got out of that stage. LOL A Summer's Day is a perfect name for the color palette you have chosen. Janice

Oh WoW, that is one pretty kitchen, love the color combination, Carla! I love the name of your kitchen..
ReplyDeleteGreat job. We have been working on some projects, but they are outside, our chicken pens were in need of much repair.
Thank you for sharing.

Oh you'll love it when you get it done! And it's a good project to work on together. Take care and keep going! lol Hugs to you both!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your project progress. I love a yellow kitchen. Don't have one though. It opens so much to the dining room and living room, felt like I needed all the colors to be the same or at least blend. Been years since we've redone it though.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I really love the color scheme! It is like Van Gogh sunflowers and the chickens will be perfect. I love your sink and cabinet. I hope you are keeping that sink! It's amazing! I look forward to seeing it. Perfect little farmhouse you have! We are working on ours. Has it been ten years??? Anyway, disaster happened. Faucet was leaking and I did not realize until the wood floor was uneven. Fortunately so dry here!Doing repairs and refresh ourselves again. Maybe complete in summer??? Takes a while to get things!!! Appliances not made like that used to be!!! I can live with the floor. I think it looks more authentic, but damaged paint not so much.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! Looking forward to the next update!
