Pumpkin Party 2023
My parents, both our boys and sweet little Ernie all attended the pumpkin party.
My parents grew all the pumpkins. We had big ones, little ones and warty ones.
We had a lovely day outside to carve our pumpkins. Let the creativity and shenanigans begin.
This is me... and I had a great idea for this pumpkin.
I purchased a small pipe at an Estate Sale, I thought it would make a fun addition to my Jack o Lantern.
All aglow on a warm October's night.
A few days after our Pumpkin Party we had two days of stormy weather. After the storm our deck was a carpet of Autumn color.
And now we are into November..
November brings good skating weather, Thanksgiving gathers us together.

I love your pumpkin, it is so creative. And the leaf carpet is just perfect, adding beautiful color. I am assuming that sweet little Ernie is the little dog? He is a real cutie!!! Does he like pumpkin? The warty pumpkins are called Curcurbita, and I think they originated in France maybe. But of course if you said the name, no one would know what you are talking about!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great party had. The pumpkins all look great. So happy you could all get together to do that. Then the colorful Fall leaves make them look extra awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow that's a lot of pumpkins! Sounds like you all had a fun time x
ReplyDeleteSuch fun photos, and your carvings are impressive!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote by Tasha Tudor. I'm happy you posted about this annual event. I love your jack-o-lantern, and the pipe is so cute! :D All of them are fun.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteOh, I enjoy seeing your pumpkin carving parties every year, Carla. Your pumpkin is so creative with the pipe. And having your mom and dad there is the best thing. They all look so cute all glowing at night. And I love your pictures with all the Fall leaves after the storm. There are a bunch of leaves on my lawn right now too. Landscaper said to wait a couple weeks til they stop falling, and he'll gather them up. But doesn't it look cool when they are there? What a fun party, Carla, and thanks for sharing this precious family time with us.

ReplyDeleteI love that you all had this family time and were able to make great memories. You did great with your pumpkin....he needed the pipe. The storm left the perfect flooring for the pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteSuch precious memories!!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteVery cool that you all get together to carve your pumpkins. Very creative. Love yours with the pipe. I've not carved a pumpkin in YEARS! Never very good at it. I've been raking, blowing, and mulching leaves with the mower like crazy, trying to keep up with the falling leaves. Now that most of my leaves are down and taken care of, my neighbors leaves are blowing into my yard...argh, wish he would rake them so I don't have to; but everyyear it's a thing.
ReplyDeleteOh how I was delighted looking at all of the creativity in your family's pumpkin carving skills. So glad you had a nice day to do this and they all looked wonderful! Janice
