Hello Friends,
We had our annual Pumpkin Carving Party on Sunday.
The weather was cold and windy, so we had our party in the comfort of our home. Not only was Sunday our Pumpkin Carving Party it was the official day of 'turning on the heat'. We mark the calendar of the official day we turn on the heat and turn off the heat. Ha! Some may think we are strange. Ha!
After a meal of chili, cornbread and apple crisp for dessert we got busy carving.

ReplyDeleteYour pumpkin carving party sounds like a great family fun. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWe have the wood stove going but we don't have our winter wood yet. We might have to turn on the heat soon. It's getting cold and we are supposed to get frost this week.
Happy Halloween.
Hugs,
Julia
These are so well done! And pumpkin carving is not easy! So what will become of them; does each person take his home? I sure do understand marking the calendar when you turn the heat one! I used to mark the calendar every spring on the first day I saw a robin.
ReplyDeleteLooking at all of your carved pumpkins made me smile. I loved them all. So glad you keep up this tradition. We officially turned our heat on Sunday morning when we came home from my moms. It was raining and quite chilly inside our house, so on it went for until Spring. Janice
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the weather. Those pumpkins are all so cute. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteGreat carving Carla :)
ReplyDeletethis looks like so much FUN! You all did a great job carving these pumpkins and by capturing the pictures of them, you will have great memories for years to come. I think it's neat for you to mark the day you turn the heat on and off. I'm this way too...I like to record things like this in order to compare to last year.
ReplyDeleteThese are so impressive. Your menu sounded perfect! I made a pear crisp this week.Yumm!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it's abundantly clear that you have some very talented and creative pumpkin carvers on your hands! I couldn't pick a favorite, they are all fabulous and festive! Love the quotes, too!! Happy Halloween!!
ReplyDeleteThe creative juices were definitely flowing! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh, all the pumpkins look so creative for the pumpkin carving party, Carla. I always like the happy face ones, and that last pumpkin of the moon all lit up is delightful. Chili and corn bread sound wonderful for this special day. A fun time for everyone. Enjoy the heat, it's getting colder. Mine is on right now also, and it's raining!
