Hello Friends, We still have snow on the ground.. but the promise of spring is in the air.
Time for the Hodgepodge, Joyce asks the questions. We answer the questions.
Here we go.
1. March 15th is known as The Ides of March, the date on which Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C....have you ever been to Rome? If so what did you love most about the city? If not, is this a place you'd like to visit?
I have not been to Rome. Yes, I would like to visit someday.
2. 'Rome wasn't built in a day.' What project/activity/improvement (of any kind) do you have going on right now to which this saying might be applied?
We have plans to paint and redecorate our bedroom, but things are moving very slow.
3. Let's do a little this or that with some Italian foods...
- Caprese salad or Prosciutto with melon?
- Bruschetta or Antipasto?
- lasagne or ravioli?
- bolognese or Carbonara?
- Risotto or gnocchi?
- tiramisu~gelato~cannoli?
Prosciutto with melon
Bruschetta
Ravioli
Carbonara
Gnocchi
Cannoli
We made Creamy Spinach Ravioli Soup for dinner Saturday.
4. Of the colors red, white, and green which would I find most prevalent in your home? Which one do you think is most flattering to you in terms of your wardrobe? Have you ever had your colors done? Is that something you'd be interested in doing?
We do not have these colors in our home. We have several shades of blue, brown and grey.
Red is in my wardrobe.
I had my colors done long ago, it was a fun Girl Scout outing my mom planned. I would love to do it again.
5. Life would be boring without____________________?
The weather? Hee Hee
Here in Wisconsin, we talk about the weather hourly, because it can be all four seasons in a day around here.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I talk about the weather a lot too. We're entering pollen season which is not my favorite. But I am loving the warmer weather. It's still cool in the morning but we'll be in the 70's today. See here I am talking about the weather lol. Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha yep in the midwest we can have all 4 seasons in one day. We will hit 75 on Friday but with 50 mile an hour winds and some storms possible. Then the next day back to 39. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. Hugs. Kris
LOLOL love the random thought!
ReplyDeleteWe’re back to our rainy winter after a week or so of Spring. Back and forth/forth and back! Summer will get here all too soon.
Have a great day.
To answer question #2: we are currently working on doing some spring cleaning! I really want to do a deep clean & it has been taking us longer than expected. I have been organizing the closets and cabinets but still have lots to do! We are having a professional carpet cleaner come in this week so it will be nice to have some help with that. Wish me luck as I try my best to get the rest of the house in order haha!
ReplyDeletePerhaps I shouldn't be! BUT I am chuckling at that cartoon :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
oh my goodness! I love your "random thought." We talk about the weather a lot in Alabama, too. It can change in an instant!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha we can always talk about the weather - we're usually complaining about the weather. Love that random thought.
ReplyDeleteI can never remember the Ides Of March! I always wonder why such a big deal is made of that one particular assassination.
ReplyDeletePenelope would never sell Ernie! heehee!! That ravioli soup looks amazing. I need the recipe! I loved Rome and didn't expect to like it too much. Have you dug out from the 10" of snow?
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the meme. There have been time we had the 4 seasons in one day. Hope it does not happen too often. I love Italian food. YUM! Janice
ReplyDeleteI love Rome, one of the most wonderful cities to visit. The sights, people and great food! Color - Green for sure. Your soup looks magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI have been to Rome. I spent a week there with my daughter and returned to the US 36 hours before 9/11. I would love to return and visit with my husband.
ReplyDeleteOur weather is like yours--constantly changing. This week we are enjoying warmth and sunshine.
I giggled when I read your cartoon at the end. Sounds like a cat...
Laughing at your ending. Your ravioli soup looks delicious. Weather does pop up in many a conversation. Hope the bedroom project gets a boost to go forward. Happy Hodgepodge to you!
ReplyDeleteTotally loved the meme. To question number 2 would be our basement and decluttering it. It has become our catch all and has totally gotten out of hand...sigh...and it will take a bit to clean out...another sigh!
ReplyDeleteThat was a funny cartoon!! Haha! I hope they got a good price!! And my answer to all the questions above would be cannoli!! Yum!!
ReplyDeleteThat would be wonderful if you could visit Rome someday. That's exciting about the bedroom. That dinner on Saturday looks delicious. I love cannoli. The colors in you rooms sounds lovely. I get the about the weather. We seem to talk about it a lot too. Love your random. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post and got a good chuckle out of the cartoon at the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Cute, cute meme Carla. lol. Big yum to your ravioli soup. Looks so comforting. I want to redo our bedroom as well....just cant totally decide what to do...Good luck getting your makeover done... Happy Weekend.
ReplyDeleteI left a comment yesterday and it's not here. I wonder what I did wrong. That should be fun redoing your bedroom. I love cannolis and you spinach ravioli soup looks delicious. The colors in your home sound lovely. True about talking about the weather. Love your random.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your answers! So many of your answers would have been mine as well (and not just the ones about the food preferences but other ones, too). I hope the weather season that you are experiencing today is a good one :).
ReplyDeleteThat soup looks really good! The cartoon looks great.
ReplyDeleteI meant the cartoon was funny. Uggh. It's early
ReplyDeleteI have been to Rome. Twice. The food is absolutely delectable and no better gelato anywhere.
ReplyDeleteLife would be boring without the Roundhouse. Roundhouse is a family restaurant institution in our small town that has been around since 1947. It is the place to go when you want to see friends or be alone in a crowd. All moods welcomed.
