YUM!
It is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. What's something you enjoy now that your younger self would never have appreciated?
Coffee
When I was younger I did not like coffee. Today I appreciate the different roasts, coffee beans and the ways to make coffee. My favorite way to enjoy coffee is making a cup of pour over coffee. My second is french press. My third is camp coffee.
2. What was peaceful about today?
Watering my potted plants.
3. It's National Blueberry Day (July 8). Will you celebrate? You can have one of the following right now-a slice of blueberry pie, a warm blueberry muffin, or a stack of blueberry pancakes...which do you choose?
Wisconsin blueberries come into season late July. We usually go to a pick your own farm to pick fresh blueberries to freeze to enjoy during the winter.
I do make a delicious blueberry muffin. And now I am hungry for just that.
This or that-blueberries or raspberries? raspberries
blueberries or strawberries? blueberries
4. Do you need a break? From what?
I currently am doing alright, because we have been receiving rain once a week. Otherwise I would answer, "I need a break from watering the garden."
5. What has surprised you most about getting older?
The trouble I am having with my eyes. My eyesight is one thing. And now I have dry eye. It got very bad this spring. I recently saw my optometrist, she recommended some drops I will start this week.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
My summer display is filling out nicely.

Your summer display of flowers is so pretty!! We just had blueberry season here in Alabama. We have gone to a "u-pick" blueberry farm before and I thought we would fill up our buckets much faster than we did haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I'm jealous of your rain! We've not had any in over a week and a half. Had decent chances over the weekend but nothing materialized :(. I hope the eye drops help your dry eyes. Are blueberries supposed to be better up north? My mom always traveled to Michigan to pick blueberries. She claimed they were better up there :).
ReplyDeleteYour summer display is beautiful! We had rain last night which was needed. I'm sure we still need more. We have a neighbor with too many blueberry bushes so they invite us to pick as many as we want. They freeze well which is nice. I hope the drops help. My eyesight is the one thing above all else that makes me feel just a little bit old. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the dry eye. I hope the drops will help. I love blueberry muffins too and especially made with fresh blueberries. Yum now I want to make a batch lol! Have a good week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteHope the drops help. My eyes are dry and itchy many days, so annoying!
ReplyDeleteI tend to have dry eyes and my optamologist places plugs in my tear ducts. Simple, easy and in the beginning, I had that done every six month but now I haven't had it in a year! Since we have low humidity year round, dry eyes are very common.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty. That red one is gorgeous!
I couldn't stand the smell of coffee until I was in my mid 20's never mind drinking it, now I love the stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love going out on an evening and watering my plants. It is such a peaceful activity.
I hope the drops help your eyes.
Ohhhh! Coffee is a great answer! I've always liked coffee flavour in cakes or sweets but I was nearly 20 before I would enjoy a cup without a ton of sugar. Wish I had thought of that... But we did match on watering the plants!
ReplyDeleteLoving your patriotic flower display. I love all berries. YUM Hope the eye drops help with your dry eye. Janice
