Hello Friends,
We are in a tropical heat wave here in Wisconsin. It is time to get on the water. I will be doing just that this week and I cannot wait.
Before I do, we will join the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. "Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability." Sam Keen
Do you feel less guilty relaxing in July than you do in January? Elaborate.
We will be kayaking this week on the shores of Lake Superior.
Relaxing outside in July is easier to do in Wisconsin, so yes, I do like to relax in July, especially on the water. But, sitting by a cozy fire on a cold January day with a good book, can be just as relaxing. I do not feel guilty about either... Hee Hee.
2. What's a telltale sign you're upset?
I cannot think. I just huff.
3. July 16th is National AI Day. What are your general thoughts and/or
experiences with AI? Have you purposely used it? Does it excite you,
scare you, or worry you? What do you see as a benefit? How about
something relating to AI you see as a negative?
I appreciate the help if I ask it for help. I have asked AI to help me with a few things. I think it can be helpful as long as we have common sense regarding it.
Data Centers are making me nervous, that is a big negative for me regarding AI.
4. You're invited to a summer pot luck and are asked to bring an
appetizer, salad/side, or dessert. Which category do you go for and what
are you bringing?
I would bring coleslaw, made from our very own fresh garden cabbage, carrots and onions.
5. It wouldn't be summer without___________________.
Butterflies and Flowers
Sunsets
Campfires
S'mores
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Last week I shared that my optometrist recommended some drops for my dry eye. They did not work. Boo Boo! I am trying some new drops today. I do hope they will do the trick.

I'm sorry the eye drops didn't help and hope the new will do the trick. I love coleslaw and fresh from the garden sounds wonderful. Enjoy kayaking and being on the water this month!
ReplyDeleteI love how you enjoy the outdoors/summer a lot in Wisconsin! You likely have a shorter window of time to enjoy said activities than people in other areas (though I know you do still spend time outdoors even in the winter). Agree with you wrote about AI and what summer wouldn't be like without. Your coleslaw sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are managing to stay cool, that water does look so cooling. The kayaking sounds like a lot of fun and very relaxing.
ReplyDeleteYour coleslaw does sound good and I hope the new eye drops work.
These extreme weather days are crazy. I am thankful for air conditioning. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI do hope those new drops will help. Your kayaking sounds refreshing and fun. Enjoy. You are invited to our next summer get together with your fresh from the garden coleslaw! Hooray for being guilt free! Happy Hodgepodge!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this summer heat so far! I hope the new eye drops help!
ReplyDelete"I cannot think. I just huff."....that sounds so much like me haha. Your homemade coleslaw from the garden cabbage sounds wonderful. And what a glorious photo of the butterfly. They are hard to capture. Have fun kayaking, Carla!
ReplyDeleteAI is just a tool. It's up to us, how we use it and how often. As for its control? It's everywhere and there's no turning back.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the water and the kayaking. I am not a fan of AI. I haven't used it at all. Yum on the coleslaw. That's an awesome photo of the butterfly. Sorry about the drops. Hope the new one works for you. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI just watched a very interesting documentary about AI. It was exciting and a little bit terrifying all at once. I guess only the future will tell...in the meantime, I think relaxing in summer leaves me feeling less guilty. These warm days just go by so quickly, I feel like I need to take advantage. I hope your new eye drops work...keep us posted. Enjoy those kayaks!! xo
ReplyDeleteYikes! so what are the new drops? Did he recommend them as well? The gorgeous butterfly is perfectly centered on the daisy!! We are in a heat wave here, too. Ir's 96 today.
