Happy Easter ~ It is the Hodgepodge

Happy Easter

Welcome to the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

 1. Has spring sprung in your little corner of the world? Other than the calendar how would I know? What's your favorite thing about spring?

Yes, Spring has sprung here in Wisconsin. The robins are here, pussy willows are in bloom and the we have MUD!! Good old mud.
My favorite thing about spring is hearing the birds in the morning. This morning we had a flock of Red Winged Blackbirds singing away. It was great!

 2. Besides the weather, what's put a spring in your step recently?

The boys have enjoyed a great school year. The end is near! I am so happy they had a fun year and that they enjoy learning.

 3. How does Easter impact you?

Good Friday service impacts me. Every year!
Easter morning always brings a smile to my face.
He Has Risen!

  4. I saw this somewhere on Facebook and thought it would make a fun Hodgepodge question. Which of the following would you find most disappointing...

a just stuffed taco shell breaking open and spilling out before you take the first bite? dropping a just-purchased Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts coffee? opening the peanut butter jar and finding it empty? upending onto the sidewalk a just-purchased ice cream cone? a burnt bagel popping up in your toaster when you're rushing breakfast? or cutting into an avocado and finding out it's rotten?

 5. What's something held together with tape at your house? Or a paper clip? Or a wing and a prayer?

Ha! This one made me laugh...this was our basement wall last spring!!
A wing and a prayer!
We had to wait a month and a few weeks before this...

We were so thankful all went well.

6. Do you feel underappreciated? In what way?

I am so thankful to say, no, I feel appreciated by my family, friends and the folks I volunteer for.

7. What's something you'd build if you knew how?

A greenhouse.

 8. Insert your own random thought here.

One of our favorite Easter traditions is opening and reading the Easter story using Resurrection eggs.

Happy Easter

  1. I think the spilled Starbucks would be it for me! The Holy Thursday service was really moving for me. We don't get to it every year but it was like nothing I'd ever been to. Those Resurrection eggs look like fun! I'm ready for spring break!

  2. I LOVE this! I have to say the coffee spill would be the worst for me as well but the ice cream cone isn't far behind! I would ABSOLUTELY build a greenhouse if I could! I love Easter, it makes me smile too my friend!

  3. Spring kind of tried to come in but Mr Winter just wouldn't have it. We now have a big snow storm to melt and it's snowing again today. Robins have kept away, no Spring flowers yet.
I'm looking forward to the Resurrection and Easter Sunday.
Have a great week Carla and happy Easter.
    Hugs,
    JB

  5. My girls loved the Resurrection eggs. I passed our set on to my sister last year so she could try them with my nephew. Happy Easter to you and your family!

  6. I always wanted to do the Resurrection eggs but never did. We do make Resurrection rolls Easter morning though :) We do seem to be very like-minded :) Happy Easter to you and your family!

  7. I remember pussy willows back in Illinois. My favorite was forsythia's. (He Has Risen Indeed) A greenhouse would be awesome to have. I love your Resurrection egg set. I've never seen one of those before. Happy Easter!

  10. Spring is my least favorite season. I love the blooming flowers and the way the whole world comes back to life...but the pollen makes me itch and sneeze and locks me in the house for weeks. Boo.

  11. Pussy willows? I haven't seen them in years! My mom used to have them around when we were growing up on the farm, but I haven't seen them since we moved from there.
We are currently getting covered in some odd ice/rain mixture. Bring on spring, asap :)

  13. Hi Carla: Sorry for the delay in commenting. I'm just getting back into the swing of things after being away for a while. What interesting questions you had to answer! I chuckled about the tacos/coffee. :) I agree about the morning bird songs--such a lovely part of spring, summer, and fall! Happy Easter!

  21. Carla, I love Resurrection eggs. My pastor at the church I attended in Ohio used them to tell the resurrection story to the children every Easter. Cutting open an avocado and finding it rotten is the worst! Especially when it's the only one in the house. We eat a lot of avocados. Hugs, Nancy
