It is Wednesday and it is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. What are two or three expectations you have of yourself?
1. To be positive ~ I try to be as positive as I can in all situations. I have failed at times, but when I do, I try to come in with a comeback.
2. To make someone smile or laugh everyday.
2. In what way does your outdoor space need sprucing up this spring?
We had to cut down four trees this past Autumn/Winter. We just finished the last one on Thursday. We have some landscaping to do, raking, pile up wood and burn some brush.
3. According to this site (Roadtrippers), six of North America's most wondrous waterfalls are-Webster's Falls in Ontario, Upper Whitewater Falls in North Carolina, Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, Multnomah Falls in Oregon, The Lower Yellowstone Falls, and Niagara.
Have you seen any on the list? Which one on the list would you most
like to visit? Prettiest waterfall not on the list that you've seen in
person?
No, I have not seen any of the following on the list.
The one I would like to visit would be Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon.
Prettiest waterfall not on the list...
Big Manitou Falls
highest waterfall in Wisconsin
Pattison State Park
4. Looking back, what's something you wish you'd done as a teenager?
Spent more time with my Grandma Martha.
5. Ham...yes please or no thank you? If you said yes please which of the
following do you like best-baked ham with all the trimmings, a ham and
cheese sandwich, prosciutto with melon, a ham biscuit, a bowl of split
pea and ham soup, or a slice of pizza topped with ham and pineapple?
I love a good bowl of split pea and ham soup....I have not had one in years. Boo :-(
And a slice of pizza topped with ham and pineapple. Yummy!
6. Are you typical of your generation? How so?
I honestly do not know.
7. April rolls in at the end of the week, and in keeping with that
theme...'act the fool', 'nobody's fool', 'a fool's errand', 'could have
fooled me'...which foolish idiom most recently applies to you? Explain.
'a fool's errand'
On getting my dear sweet boys to understand the importance of keeping their room clean.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
My best April Fools trick...I serve the boys Oatmeal with worms.
Have a great week!
Ha! I am totally going to steal this April fools trick and play it on my girls Friday!! I love it :-) you know I always love learning a little more about you, I try to stay positive but fail a lot of the time unfortunately. It's an area I definitely need to work on, it's easy to get caught up in negativity for certain. I have seen the falls in the Grand Canyon and at Yellowstone but would love to see the rest on the list. I'm not a big fan of ham so I'd take a piece of pizza any day loaded with veggies !!!!
ReplyDeletePea soup sounds good right now. I never cared for ham but I didn't mind it in a quiche! I like that oatmeal. I loved making April fool's day foods for the family to trick them. We have some trees that need to come done and lots of yard work to do this spring.
ReplyDeleteI love the April Fool's joke! Best wishes with the yard clean-up. Hope you have nice weather to work outdoors. Your Split Pea Soup with ham sounds delicious. Sending hugs to Catsby! Hi to the boys, also. Enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we even have waterfalls in the UK so I am quite jealous of the US having so many wonderful ones!
ReplyDeleteI like your self-expectations - so positive!

Yes, I've seen that waterfalls too, but forgot the name. I love the April Fool's joke, and I bet the boys LOVE IT! :-) I like your #1, Carla. xo
ReplyDeleteI love the oatmeal served with worms, that is great! I didn't realize there were so many beautiful waterfalls all over the country. Have a great rest of the week :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your hodgepodge answers as always! I love split pea soup, and don't make it often enough :) Great April Fool's joke on your sons! I love the waterfall you shared from Wisconsin. The only one on her list that I have seen is Niagra Falls. It is gorgeous. I would love to see the rest! Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely waterfall. Good luck with getting those boys motivated to clean their rooms. Love that idea with the gummy worms!
ReplyDeleteI think boys would love worms and oatmeal! The sound is ick, but it so cute and colorful! How are you going to out do yourself with that one? :) I have seen a number of those waterfalls on your list, and not Havasu. I like the waterfalls in Hawaii, because there seems to be an easy trail to get to most of them. Though I can walk five miles a day, I can not take jarring to my hip or excessive heat. My dad went with my youngest sister by mule down to the bottom of the canyon. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteI've been to Niagara. It's awe inducing. I love your wanting to make people laugh...that is awesome!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour expectations are just so good ...
ReplyDeleteLove the April Fools joke - can you believe it will be 1st April very soon!
Enjoy your week
All the best Jan
I love the oatmeal so much! Also, those falls are beautiful! They are now on my list to see!!! Following you from Hodgepodge! Ann
ReplyDeleteI love your April Fools trick : ) I think there are so many beautiful falls tucked away all across the country. Sometimes the hidden gems are better than those that attract tons of tourists. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSo great getting to know you more in this Hodge Podge post, Carla!
ReplyDeleteJane
love your random thought, lol
DeleteGood Morning Carla. Love the oatmeal worms lol! Too cute. I bet the boys loved that.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Hugs,
Kris
Oh I hear you about children and their rooms!! Drives me batty.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting that if you could go back as a teenager, you'd want to spend more time with your grandma, not have the latest and greatest "thing." That's a good lesson for kids today.
ReplyDeleteThe 'worms' are a lot of fun. It's fun raising boys...I remember! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Multnomah and Niagra. Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon looks so pretty in the photo. I doubt I'll ever hike to see it, but it would be nice. Have fun with the worms. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis picture of the Purple flowers is beautiful, Carla, and I don't use that word that often. :) Hahaha, what a fun April Fool's trick you pulled on your boys. Your Grandma Martha would be pleased how her granddaughter turned out.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment tonight on my post. Yes, a lot of sacrifices comes with staying home full time with our kids. But it was so worth it being home with my little ones day after day.
It's April tomorrow, oh my!
~Sheri
What a beautiful waterfall. I hope we can visit there this year.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you bring smiles and laughs to those around you every day :)
