Hi Everyone,
It has been awhile for us to welcome a new neighbor. It was extra special for me to welcome this new neighbor. She is the young lady I posted about in May. My sweet friend, who married in May, is now my new neighbor.
We made up a basket full of fresh veggies from the garden.
Tucked underneath is a fun kitchen towel and card.
I forgot to take a photo before walking over for delivery. My husband did his best to show what we have inside the basket. |
Flowers too!! |
I still remember way back 15 years ago when we moved in our home, our neighbor baked us a fresh apple pie to introduce us to the neighborhood.
Do you have any fun stories of being welcomed in to the neighborhood or how you welcomed a new neighbor?
I am looking forward to your fun ideas!
Enjoy your weekend!
What a wonderful and thoughtful way to welcome your neighbor. I LOVE that basket!
ReplyDeleteI love it when friends move into the neighborhood! It has happened to us on a few occasions. Actually, one of those "friends" was my own sister!! Your basket is beautiful. You are always so thoughtful! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great basket! Wishing them all the best.....
ReplyDeleteThis is very sweet!! A few of our neighbors brought us over baked goods. It was really nice to be welcomed into the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to do! And whatever happened to Welcome Wagon anyway? Maybe they are gone with the wind now. I cannot remember if we were welcomed or not! I know neighbors did come over and introduce themselves, and that was nice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to welcome in your new neighbour!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet and I know it was appreciated. I gave my new neighbor some fruits and veggies from the Farmer's Mkt and then a few days later she gave us some lemon pie she had made (that hubby could eat). It's fun to share with neighbors! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gift for your new neighbor.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful basket and welcome to your sweet friend and neighbor.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday.

How nice to share with your new neighbor/friend! At one of our homes, a young mom with a group of neighborhood children welcomed us with a vase of flowers. That was really appreciated. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI recently welcomed a former student to our neighborhood. She showed up with a husband & four young children. This to the delight of everyone as the demographic had changed from young couples with kids to retired people.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely. I don't know... Maybe I should try it... My neighbor next door is great. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely and thoughtful gift. Hugs,

What a great gift. I always provided a 'moving day meal'. Usually lasagna with a bag of salad, paper plates & plastic silverware, a loaf of Italian bread and dessert of some kind. That way they could eat whenever and not have to worry about trying to throw something together for everyone. It was always really appreciated. Other times, I took sub sandwiches cut into mini-sandwiches and dessert. I think ANY kind of welcoming gesture means a lot to new neighbors. Let's hope your new neighbors are perfect neighbors! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThis was a very thoughtful gift. I remember delivering a pound cake that my Mother had made to a neighbor family. The little boy about my age, opened the door, took the cake from me, and yelled to his Mother who was in the kitchen: "Look Mom, ANOTHER cake!!!"
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice gesture to welcome your neighbor, Carla. Fresh veggies and flowers is just the right way. No, they usually don't welcome neighbors with gifts around here, they might just say a big hello. I think an apple pie sounds very nice. :)
