Hello Wednesday and it is the Hodgepodge!

My sister gifted this candle to me. As I went out to vote yesterday.. I was thinking about Veteran's Day coming up next week. Again reminding me how thankful I am to have the right to vote, because of Hero's who have stood up to evil when freedom was in jeopardy.

Joyce asks the questions.

We answer the questions.

1. How do you define peace?

At this time we have a friend who is dying, our dear friend Marv, who has been a subject to many of my stories here on the blog. He is a Korean War veteran. He talked to me many times about the war and God. He was thankful he had God in his heart. I am thankful I do as we say good bye to him. Having trust in God gives me peace.

2. November 3rd is Election Day in the US of A, but did you know it's also National Sandwich Day? Let's vote, shall we? egg salad or tuna salad? Egg Salad! chicken salad or grilled chicken on a bun? Chicken Salad! peanut butter and jelly or a bagel with cream cheese? Bagel with Cream Cheese! turkey and swiss or ham and cheddar? Turkey and Swiss! grilled cheese or pimento cheese? Grilled Cheese!  roast beef-corned beef-or make mine veggie? Roast Beef!

 3. When did you last say (or feel) 'no rest for the weary'?

In late September when we started our staining the house and change the trim colors of home project.

4. This time last year, where were you?

I was  enjoying a day at my home sweet home!

 5. Share a favorite song, verse, or quote featuring the word 'peace'.

“And he said, ‘O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.' And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, 'Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.’ ”

Daniel 10:19

6. Insert your own random thought here.

If you were to ask what is most important in a home, I would say memories.

  1. How sweet of your sister. Some times, they make us nuts and some times they are are dearest friends. LOL Your porch is so adorable, love it. My daughter makes a baked chicken salad and I am crazy for it. Blessings to all , xoxo, love you, Susie

  2. I am sorry to hear about your friend. Great answer to #5! The Lord is our strength, Amen.

  3. This candle is the perfect gift for you. Your porch is gorgeous!

  4. I feel like I should mail you some pimento cheese : ) I used to make my own but there's a brand called Palmetto Cheese and it is every bit as delicious as homemade. It's a SC brand, but I used to find it in my NJ grocery store too so you could look for it. I don't know how Wisconsin feels about a SC cheese product-ha! I like it best spread on crackers. Love your verse at the end. Trying to fill my mind with these sorts of reminders.

  5. Hello Carla,
I enjoyed reading your answers. Great verse from Daniel. Hope you have a peaceful rest of the week and weekend.

  6. As usual, I love your answers. You fall decor looks so good in your entrance. The blue trim looks so nice with the dark stained wood. You must be so proud of your job.
Trust in God give me much peace too.

Take care and stay safe and well.

  7. I am so glad that both you and Marv trust Jesus. And someday we will be reunited with our King of Glory!!

I am eager to see the new color of your house and trim!!

  8. I hope Marv has peace as well. That candle is so sweet. You guys worked hard on the house. It looks great! Grilled cheese is my favorite!

  9. I am praying for Marv. I know he had a good life with good family and friends but it is always hard to know when someone is saying goodbye to their life. Glad he believes in God and has his faith. I know this is hard for you sweet friend you felt such a connection to Marv. Keeping prayers for you too. xoxo Kris
