Book Reveiw ~ Rogue Male

Hi Friends,

Do not let the title or the artwork on the cover make your decision on reading this book.

I enjoyed it! I recommend it just for the twists of events that keep you guessing if our hero will make it out of his situation alive.

One of my reading goals for 2021 is to try new reads that I may not gravitate to normally.

Rogue Male

Written by: Geoffrey Household

1930 - something:

a professional hunter is passing through an unnamed Central European country that is in the thrall of a vicious dictator.

Simply the best escape and pursuit story yet.. written with lip - chewing right to the end.

The Times - London

Do you have any good reads you would like to share?

  2. Sounds like a scary one. -smile-

I applaud you wanting to step out of your usual mode of reading. I do! Guess I'm just too wimpy. lol

I have one, which got too uncomfortable for me.... I skipped to the end, to find out what happened, "in the end." Seeeee????? Wimp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -grin-

I keep reading my cute little cozies.

But have the next, in a long running series of books, on pre-order. These are not cozies. And I love the series.

"Ruth Galloway" Series... in order. I highly recommend them!!!!!

  3. What I'm reading and studying is The Eco of God by Fr. Lance W. Harlow. This book is a commentary for beginners on St Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort's True Devotion to Mary. Our prayer group is also taking part in this study with the author via Zoom.

  5. Carla, I really should try an action thriller book like this one as I too much enjoy my well loved rut of books. I've written the name down on my wish list. The past few weeks I've once again read the three Susan Branch autobiographical books: Fairy Tale Girl, Isle of Dreams, and A Fine Romance. The first time I read them I rushed through them to see what would happen next but this time I leisurely read them at bedtime, savoring each beautiful artistic page. If I could afford it, I would gift all three of these books to every woman I know, they are that good! Have you ever read them?

  9. I recommend "A Schoolteacher in Old Alaska: The Story of Hannah Breece" for non-fiction. It is absorbing.

  12. At the moment I have 2 of the Patrick Taylor books about the Irish doctor. One of the best escape stories I have read is Midnight Express, a true story about Billy Hayes who escaped from a Turkish prison. The movie in the irritating way they often have, fiddled with the ending but... the book is a good read.

  13. My daughter and I have been reading the classics. We started with The Secret Garden and now we are making our way though Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights.
