Knock Knock .. December is almost here and it is the Hodgepodge

The Greenhouse is decked out for Christmas.

Hello Friends,

It is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.

Joyce asks the questions.

We answer the questions.

 1. Sum up your November in ten words or less.

Amazing weather, that is unusual for Wisconsin in November.

 2. Are you hosting any holiday parties this year?My birthday is in December. We host a little party for me, with cookie decorating and game playing.  Attending any? Yes. The company my husband works for hosts a wonderful Christmas party each year, we have a group of his co-workers that we sit by and catch up. We will travel to my parents farm for the Christmas weekend. Party pooper, party animal, or life of the party...where do you land when it comes to parties? I love to visit with people. It is catching up with friends and family at our holiday parties. I also love to play games.

3. Do you purchase holiday clothing of any sort (sparkly tops, Christmas jammies, Santa suit, etc).

My sister purchases a Christmas T - shirt for the three of us, her, me and my mom. They are always fun. Last years print on the T-shirt was a hen wrapped in Christmas lights.

 4. What's your go-to recipe when you're asked to bring an hors d'oeuvre to a party?

Taco Dip and Chips

 5. December 3rd is National Play Outside Day...what might you do to celebrate?

As I type this, we are receiving our first big snow of the season. We are up to five inches already and it is still coming down. My husband and I both enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing. I have a feeling we will be enjoying one of the two this weekend.

 6. Insert your own random thought here.

  1. Good answers as usual, Carla.

1.) November was wonderful and was gone in a wink.
2.) Since Covid, we haven't hosted any parties.
3.) I no longer but special clothing for Christmas unless, I really, really need something.
4.) Shrimp ring and dipping sauce.
5.) If there's enough snow I'll make a snowman but at the moment, our lawn is very green.
6.) I don't mind the snow as long as the road isn't icy under. I no longer bounce when I fall.
    lol...

    Hugs

  2. LOL I appreciate your quote. I don't like cold or snow but we're going to move to Tennessee in about 10 years so I'll have to get used to it!

  3. I loved your Santa story. Kind of like the Santa in Home Alone lol. Your snow is so pretty. I do miss the early snows but the late ones not so much. It is a sunny 64 degrees here but very pretty. A cookie decorating party sounds like fun.

  8. Your first snow of the season! That's always special, Carla. We will get ours soon too. I love that snow quote too. Some people don't appreciate having snow in their area, but it's always been magical to me. Your taco dip and chips sounds delicious. The Christmas t-shirt that your sister got all of you sounds delightful. Your greenhouse is so pretty decked out for Christmas.

Enjoy this beautiful Christmas season, Carla.

  13. Good advice in the poem--I will try to adhere to it. ;-) It's almost your birthday! And in December! My son's birthday is this month, too. More presents, but hopefully it's not overshadowed by the holidays.

  16. I noticed that. you had snow! So far, we are snow free but it has been bone-chillingly cold here with wicked winds! Scruffy goes out and does his business and can't wait to get back in the house. lol. What a fun tradition with the t-shirts.
I hope you have a wonderful December and you are my birthday twin!!!!! I just got a few years on you!!! lol xo Diana

  17. I won't be hosting any parties. Still trying to stay away from group stuff whenever possible. I'm counting down til spring, as I dislike winter so much. With each passing year I dislike it more. I don't buy holiday clothing. I don't do snacky things, so usually take part of the meal when attending a gathering.

  19. I'll bet the snow was just beautiful. When I lived up north, I loved it as much as anyone when snow came down ... it was the aftermath of dirty snow, ice, and freezing winds that I struggled to deal with! I don't like cold weather. I hope you have a lovely birthday! This Saturday we will be meeting up with my sister and her husband to celebrate her December birthday. Then we will celebrate Melly's ... and we already celebrated Ember's! In our family the Decembers are trying hard to take over the Marches! xoxo
