Game Time ~ It is the Wednesday Medley

 It is Wednesday!
That means it is time for the Wednesday Medley.

Terri asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

1.  It may be a little shocking, but National Static Electricity Day is January 9!!  Do you often get shocked often when you touch metal?
Thankful to say, no I do not have to much trouble with Static Electricity. I do have trouble with lighting. September 2017 lighting hit my bird feeder. It continued to travel from the bird feeder to the side of the house.
Thankfully, we only had a small amount of damage.
I will take Static Electricity Day instead of National Lighting Day. Ha!

2.  There are actually two "National" days worthy of mention! It is also National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.  Our men and women working in many areas of law enforcement put their lives on the line for us daily.  Do you know someone working in law enforcement who you can thank today?
Thank You, John H, for your service!
Wisconsin State Trooper

Thank you to John's father who also was a Wisconsin State Trooper, his sister and our dear friend Mike K.

3.  At our house right now it is all about football.  Joe's Philadelphia Eagles barely won their game on Sunday to move forward in the playoffs and another chance to play in the Super Bowl this year.  Do you have a favorite team in the playoffs or does football make you yawn?  Is there a Super Bowl party in your future, no matter the teams playing?
No Football fans in this house.
Baseball is our sport.
Go Brewers!

4.  Speaking of parties, there is always lots of food at parties I attend.  Tell us a weird food combination that you really enjoy (or have enjoyed).  It doesn't have to be party food.
I like having pickles with my spaghetti. Am I weird?

5.  Since we are on games and parties, what game have you spent the most hours playing?

We have been playing Yahtzee. I got two Yahtzee the last time we played!
Yay!
6.  Tell us something random about your week so far.

We have NO SNOW! It is January 9th and we have NO SNOW!
Our family are Cross Country Ski people. Winter with NO SNOW.. GOODNESS!

I guess I will join Max and sleep until Spring.
Ha!
Happy Wednesday Friends!

Happy Halloween and the Wednesday Medley

Trick or Treat! Happy Halloween from our house to your house. Boo!

It is Wednesday and it is time for the Wednesday Medley.
Terri asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

 1. You’re in a horror movie. Are you the final person left, the first to die, the comic relief, the skeptic, the smart one, or the killer?

I am the smart one.
I will use all my knowledge of raising two boys, who have taught me a thing or two about survival. Not that I survived raising them LOL .. but as a girl .. you learn a few things as a Mom to Boys. Like when they start to fart and they really stink and it could kill someone.

Yep, I am the smart one, I am going to survive this horror movie.

 2. While watching scary movies, are you the person who yells at the characters, the person with their eyes covered the whole time or the person who falls asleep?

I have my eyes closed.

I have a fear of spiders.. my dear husband loves to put these plastic spiders around in different places to scare me.
On the bathroom soap, in my coffee mug, on the coffee pot ....

 3. If you were dared to spend the night in a “haunted house”, would you do it?

No Way!
The last time I entered a haunted house was 2014. It ended up one of the characters knew me. We were entering a made up gulag room. My boys and husband made it safe out of the room, but the guard shut the door before I could get out. I just about died. Here it was a high school student that I was an aid in the classroom of. I did not know that until he started to laugh his head off from giving me the scare of my life.
No more haunted anything for me after that!

4. Favorite horror monster or villain?

I read Frankenstein for the first time last year. I LOVED it. It has become a favorite of mine. I recommend for all to read it.

5. Favorite horror or Halloween-themed song?

Bobby Picket "Monster Mash"

6. Tell us something random about your week.

Our son Sam should be finishing The Forge today or early Thursday. His last big test at Basic Training. We carved a pumpkin for him.

We put our green light up for America's veterans.

America’s veterans are some of our nation’s bravest, hardest-working men and women. However, it’s hard to show them the appreciation they deserve when, back home and out of uniform, they’re more camouflaged than ever. Greenlight A Vet is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.

Happy Halloween

Sunflower Seeds

Each year I try to dry our sunflower seeds for the birds.

I lay them out and get them all nice in the sun.

 Almost ready!

I am thinking,"Oh the birds will be so happy this winter, and so will I, watching the birds eat the seeds."
 I am so happy!
The next day I head in to check on my seeds and a mouse, chipmunk or squirrel has found my sunflowers in the sun.
And I ask myself...what are those darn cats doing?

Living the life of a cat, of course.

Have a great weekend my friends!

How do you like to sleep?

How do you like to sleep?
On your side?
On your back?
On your tummy?

Little B, he likes to sleep on his back, paws on his chest and usually has his tail out.
Max, he likes to sleep curled up in a ball.
I honestly do not know what to say!
Cute?
Silly Cat!
I just have to rub that tummy.

Have a great Wednesday!

The life of two cats

The life of our two cats.
The gray cat is a kitten...but you would not know it, he is just as big as Max. Max our orange cat is 3 years old. Needless to say he was not happy we brought a kitten into his life last October.

As this photo shows, the two have become best of friends.

One of our favorite things to do is to find where and how they are sleeping. We chuckle each time we find them.
Today they are cozy on Atticus' bed, looks like they are sleeping with a stuffed snake or using it as a pillow.

How about you, do your pets sleep in fun places?

All things...

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors and made their tiny wings.
The purple headed mountains, the river running by, the sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky.

Parenting

Parenting
By Autumn Bednarczyk

Parenting is incredibly hard
But well worth it when your child gives you a hand made card...

Toddlers run back and forth, like a hurricane with might force. Extremely frustrating it is true
But well worth it when they say,
"I Love You..."

So mothers and fathers I tell you, cherish every moment...

God is unbelievably proud of you
For raising your children the way He would want you to!

Things I hear

Hello Friends,
Yesterday at church a list of... Things I have learned...compiled by kids was read. It was so fun. One of them has stuck in my mind and I have to share it.

Submitted by a ten year old girl - Do not, I repeat, do not baptize your cat!

LOL

Today I am still laughing, each time I see Max, I pat him on the head. He is such a good cat!
Atticus and Max the cat!

Playing Detective with the boys.

I hope he is not sleeping on the job!

We love you Max and I love you my people!
Have a great week!

Tired Dog

Happy Friday
An older, tired looking dog wandered into my yard. I could tell from his collar and well fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of. He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out. The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks. Curious I pinned a note to his collar: "I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap!" The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: "He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3. He's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?"

Companionship

Incredible as it may seem. God wants our companionship. He wants to have us close to Him. He wants to be a father to us, to shield us, to protect us, to counsel us, and to guide us in our way through life.
Billy Graham

We let our two bunnies out for exercise and play. Max the Cat decided to have Rex clean his feet?!

Raking leaves with a friend

Atticus loves to rake leaves and jump into them. He will rake for a long time to get a big pile. He is a hard worker and loves to rake leaves.
 Molly is coming to help.
Max the Cat is enjoying the leaves.
Jumping in to the pile! That is our favorite thing to do!

We missed you

Our friend Skylar took care of our cat Max, three rabbits, Rex, Fuzz Buzz, Snowball and our goldfish George while we were gone. Molly our dog, she endured the Great American Road Trip with us! We missed Max and so did Molly.
"Guy's do not leave me again"
Max did not give us any silence treatment when we got back. That is because Skylar did such a great job helping us. She played with Max everyday and gave him some of his catnip from Sam's Catnip plant outside.
It is good to be home.

Painting Project

My project painting a red rocking chair and a blue bench. Both of these where going to be tossed in the dumpster. I grabbed them - I knew with some paint and TLC...they would look great in my house!
I stepped inside to get a drink.

Mmmm. look  who was up to mischief.
Who Me? I am innocent.
Max was so mad at himself for jumping on my wet paint. He licked himself over and over.
Curiosity...teaches the cat?

Max the Cat!

Jeremy took this photo of Max. I just love it. Max is an amazing cat. He won a Grand Champion Ribbon at the Barron County Fair and he did not even need to show up. :-) Sam did a poster about his cat, Max, he included fun stories and photos. He won.
Max also loves to read. He will sense that your are reading, and the next thing you  know he is sitting with you reading too.
Lastly, he prays! Yes, he is a praying cat. He crosses his paws over and bows his head.

Helping warm the bulbs?

I started some dahlias in pots. This is the first time I am trying this. One afternoon I noticed Max curled up on the nice warm rocks. The spring sun streaming in through the patio door warmed the rocks...I guess Max thought it was a perfect bed!
The boys thought he might be part snake, finding rocks comfortable to sleep on! Silly Cat!
