This and That

2021 TePaske Easter Cake

Hello Friends,

A little of this and that going on this past weekend and week.

We visited Catie for her birthday. If you are new to The River, Catie is our deployed son's girlfriend.

It was great to catch up with her. And we all are marking X's on our calendar's as we wait for Sam and the 157th to return to the United States.

 I started seeds.

We cooked down our first batch of maple syrup. The syrup is dark this year, my favorite.

Easter of 2022 I missed out on making our TePaske Easter cake. Again, if your new to The River, we started a tradition of the TePaske Easter cake.

I am happy to report I am back in business. We will be hosting a Palm Saturday gathering and we will be enjoying the 2023 Easter cake for dessert. Stay tuned.

  1. Hi Carla, your Bunny Easter cake tradition is wonderful. I'm so happy for you and your family that Sam will soon be back on USA soil. It will be so nice for all of you to be together again.
I'm looking forward to seeing this mysterious Easter Bunny Cake.

I love maple syrup with waffles and a little dab of whipped cream. Yummy.

Enjoy the coming weekend and the new month of April.
    Hugs,
    Julia

  7. Your Easter cakes are so delightful, Carla. Looking forward to seeing this years. I'm glad you got together with Catie. She must miss Sam terribly. Your maple syrup sounds wonderful. My son loves that on pancakes with lots of butter haha. I really love your "this and that" posts Carla.

  8. Oooo, that cake! It was hard for me to think beyond it, once I saw the photo at the top of your post. My tummy's grumbling. Maple syrup, too--yay!
